Did you guys ever have white friends growing up who often tried to act black? I knew this kid named Jeff, huge fan of the Lakers and Kobe Bryant. We would hang out often to watch basketball. I also went over there because I had a crush on his sister at the time. Anyway that's not the point. He tried so hard to act black. He would ham it up with us, acting like he was one of us. I didn't much care at the time, because he was so dumb. But looking back I do cringe at the idea of him acting like that. He was a good dude to me though, even though he was cringe city all the damn time.

But that's why I bring this question up. Have you guys ever had any white friends who tried to act black? I'm all for white people sharing interest in our culture and what we enjoy, but they gotta cool the shit with acting black. Everytime I see it, I am reminded of that shitty jamie kennedy movie where he thinks he's a rapper. I forgot what it was called, but I think you get the point.

I hate that. I used to be friends with a white kid back in elementary school, and I noticed pretty fast he would change the way he'd talk around me. Like he would try to talk like me, act like me, etc. It's one thing to take an interest in stuff we enjoy, but damn dude, lets cut out trying to talk like you're black. I did not like that, and thankfully I wasn't a friend with him that long.

I'll be anyone's friend, as long as they give me respect and don't act like an ass to myself or others. But don't mimic me or say racist things because we're buddy buddy. That's not how things work.
