This is so gross mehn,and terrifying too. Nowhere is safe anymore. I have never used Airbnb,with this info now, I'm gonna try it anytime soon .
It’s probably been happening forever too. I don’t use AirBnb for that reason. You never know what youre walking in to.
You want to try it soon? That won't be me! I prefer using hotels for short stays and getting the hell out once I am done with my activities in the location. Air BnB owners are a bit secretive and can let all manner of shits happen there with no easy trace to their locations. Please, avoid!

Mann that seems illegal though, i dont think you can secretly record people. Especially in intimate settings, i think there is an expectation of privacy.

There is no way I'm not suing them for invading my privacy and spying on me. This is pure madness of the highest order. What were they thinking installing CCTV in there?
I have stayed in one before and one of the first things I did was scope out for cameras. I can't blindly trust people I never met. I understand them wanting cameras on the house for entry points but in the damn bathrooms and bedrooms? I bet they were selling the footage online.

Yea that and hash. But we would have to sue them to the point we'd own that AirBNB.
It was like you knew they used to do that? If I had prior knowledge they do that sort of thing, there's nothing that's going to make me wanna use their services because there's a possibility that I might miss out one camera I couldn't find.
They have no right to install cameras inside someone's room for any reason. If they are not getting sued for this, that would be absurd because whether their management is aware of this happening or not, they have breached privacy law. I would be asking for $10 million damages 😡.

I think the owners should have security checks. Send trusted security personnel who makes sure the property is secure & not damaged by the renters. Also, I think security cameras outside the property is proper.
Oh for sure. I have no issue when them having them outside. They have every right to protect their property but there should not be cameras in bedrooms or bathrooms. I know by law, they are meant to list if there is security within the house. Some have noise detection monitors and cameras pointed at the front door from within the property. They have to list this. My guess is, this filthy mofo just didn't list anything.
I just don't trust people today with all this technology. You can easily buy cheap spy cams. I have heard of people being spied on in their own homes. People out there are crazy.
This is how my husband & I will get more clients. Advertise that we only have cameras outside our properties & security personnel will do periodic well being checks on the clients & the properties.

The efforts they went to in order to hide those cameras shows they have an odd operation going on. That footage is being used for something. Goes to show, you can't ever be too careful with folks.
An hotel room is a private space and I know it's kinda illegal to have cameras in people's hotel rooms and even in the restroom.

I can bet you there is a market of selling videos of people who don't know they are being filmed on the dark web. I have heard of men doing this to their ex girlfriends and wives, recording their life and streaming it, selling it on the dark web.
This is a complete violation. These places will need to be put on a list of places to avoid.
She should get all her documentation together and hit up AirBNB.
