I'm rare to medium rare guy personally, I might do medium at the highest but that's it. I used to be a well done guy but I tried medium rare ish once and never looked back

How do you eat your steak?
What an appropriate threadfor a forum named the cookout. I'm definitely a medium rare type of individual. I started off in #welldonegang but as my palate expanded I made it to the juicy utopia of medium rare.
I like med rare, but my cholesterol is acting up, so I had to cut way back on my red meat intake.
I'm medium gang.
If I order medium and they bring it out medium rare, I'll eat it.
If they bring it out well done.
I'm like:
"Y'all might as well just send this to the LA Kings Practice Facility"
I need to switch to a more grounded vernacular....

i like a sliver of pink in mine...if I'm at a restaurant I tell them that cuz medium and mid well is different depending on the establishment

It began when I was five years old. We had just returned from living in Europe, and my father was at the Strategic Air Command Base near Omaha.
He took me out for a steak at a beautiful, classic steakhouse in Omaha, just him and me. I was stunned, shocked and appalled when I saw him eat a piece of rare steak with the carmelized fat still on.
Nevertheless, I tried it, and actually liked it.
Now, half a century later, my daughter insists on me cooking her steaks to medium. I got into the habit of generally going medium rare, because the rest of the family prefers it.

I need it well done. I would rather it be a little burnt than even the slightest bit pink. When I was younger, I ate some meat that wasn't cooked all the way and got real sick from it so I am paranoid about it now.

I don't eat steak all that often. Not big on red meat but I need it well done. I ain't on that pink shit. I know a lot of people would tease me and say that is cause of my mom being white but she eats hers rare. Like it grosses me the f out. Her and my dad both. I was a vegetarian for a minute so my perspective on meat has changed. Even though I eat it now... I don't wanna see no pink.
