I might have mentioned it on the forum before...

I have always had a fascination with it but never picked it up as a kid. I am tempted to get a cheap violin and try to teach myself when I have spare time. Everything I am reading is saying it is one of the hardest instruments to learn in general, especially for adults. I am bullheaded though. I feel like I can do it. lol

Do you know anyone who plays it? I want to try it I think. I for a gift card and I might use it to buy one.

My younger sister played it but was in orchestra in middle school. It depends on if you have any grasp of music theory and decent hand eye coordination.

Maybe playing video games growing up will come in handy after all LOL

I ended up buying one. It was only $70 so it is def a budget one but I will see how things go. No clue when it will arrive yet.

beautiful instrument but super hard, how people play an instrument they cant see is beyond me, I struggle with piano and i know all the keys good luck

Well you feel the strings so it isn’t that hard.

Yeah, it is heavily reliant on finger placement and getting a feel for the cords. There is a good chance I will start playing and give up after a few weeks but I wanted to at least give it a try. I used to play the piano decently.

Once you get good enough you don't have to look at the finger board to know what note to play. It's hard in the beginning...it has taken me a year and half to get to the point where I don't have to look at the fret board to play at least for the first 5 frets.
