I should probably start to workout again. I haven't worked out much recently, but I think this Monday I'm going to get back into it. Or, maybe after Thanksgiving, damn, idk maybe after Christmas, or the New Year. Either way, I'll get there lol.

Anyway, how often do you workout? Right now for me as you can guess, not much. But when I did, I would workout every day and take the weekends off.

How often should we workout though? I was thinking an hour a day, for 5 days a week. But I know some are good doing an hour every day. Maybe one day I'll get to that.

You have to work up a tolerance for your body. I would say if you are just starting out, working out every other day is ideal. You can eventually get to a point where you work out 6 days a week but you don't want to start there, you will only hurt yourself. I don't work out often. I work a lot of hours but I do like to get 3 or 4 walks in every week.

Workout is such a broad term that it’s impossible to give any recommendation. If you’re cycling 40 miles my guidance is gonna be different than if you’re weight training. I work out 5 days a week weight training and Mon, Weds, Friday I cycle around 20 miles which totals 60 miles a week.

The days vary but the total weekly time spent is always the same for me 90mins/week minimum. Typically I do 3 days.

When I'm feeling froggy I do 30/mins each M-F and then on Sat or Sun I do a 15min yoga routine.
Subtract Dunking McDonalds chicken nuggets in your mouth while watching dragon ball and what is the weekly min?

I do a ten minute workout every day. I also walk briskly for an hour each day. My waist is 30 inches,. The most it has ever been was 34 inches, the first year after getting married. She kept me so well fed! Much better than when I was a bachelor.
Dude I wish I could get to 30 inches, I'm 40" and don't see how I can get lower without starving.

No one in my family is heavy. Mother, father grandparents were all slender. I got into health food at around age twenty and spent two years as a vegetarian. Been eating organic and non-GMO since then. I never eat fast food. It is a lifestyle.

LOL. No. My father was a foodie ( and WWII Veteran) so there was always a heightened awareness of what to eat, and what not to eat. My girlfriend was a ballet dancer and yoga enthusiast who leaned vegetarian. I ran track in high school. Becayse of all this fitness just happened.

    Dope.

It's so much easier to adhere to a strict diet when everyone else around you is eating the same way as well. BT in the Flicks I saw you posted YT videos of building plans so I thought you were an architect or carpenter.

I'm surprised you saw the video. This site has active members. Jason Black is how I found this place.

You need to give your body time to rest, so the ideal is prob 4/5 days a week.
4-5 days a week...I really want to do something today but I'm fighting it by resting
I was thinking that too. I'm going to stick with 5 days a week and go from there. Maybe work it up to everyday eventually.

You have to work up a tolerance for your body. I would say if you are just starting out, working out every other day is ideal. You can eventually get to a point where you work out 6 days a week but you don't want to start there, you will only hurt yourself. I don't work out often. For sure. I used to be able to workout every day pretty much, but I started to get lazy, and here we are. I think I'll start off slow. I don't even know if I can go 5 days a week right now, so maybe every other day.

Yeah I kinda want to mix some days lifting weights and other days doing cardio and other workouts. I know mixing it up is more ideal. But for me, I've gotten lazy, so it's going to be like starting from scratch. I think what I might do, is set up a workout schedule. So one day I will lift weights, the next cardio, and maybe change it up to something more intense later in the week, idk.

I am kinda interested in getting on the bike again. Haven't driven my bike in years, so maybe it's time I go out riding more often.

The days vary but the total weekly time spent is always the same for me 90mins/week minimum. Typically I do 3 days.

I need to try yoga. I've always put the idea off because I was never a fan of it, and currently I don't know if my body can even do most moves & positions.

I try to workout 4-5 times a week. I usually end up sitting a lot for work so I need that workout to get some movement in for the day.
I was thinking about getting an under the desk workout bike as I work from home a lot. So maybe moving my legs a bit would make it less bad for me to sit for so long. I would buy one, but they are pricey. Almost as much as a workout bike.

Like with anything, you're not going to be a pro off the bat. And some moves are going to be wayyyyyyy too much. I would say just google beginner yoga and do 10 mins or less to start and eventually you'll get to a more acclimated state. Even me, I only do 15mins lol I got a bad knee hahah I can't be doin all that carry on lol.

Same here! I looked at one and it was like $300. I figured I could move my legs for free lol

When I was more active in my younger years, I could just pick something up and rarely be sore and now these days, I walk up the steps wrong with groceries and I will feel that for a week! LOL So yeah, starting slow will help a lot.

True. I remember when I started the first time, it wasn't easy, but I eventually got into a rhythm that helped me lose weight. Now I just need to reach that again and improve even more and stick with it. :)

Yeah they can be quite pricey. The really cheap ones are to be expected, as most reviews said they broke pretty easily or within a few weeks and months of use. I saw some in the $100+ range, but idk. I'm thinking I might look into other options to workout my feet when I work at least. I was thinking about getting a standing desk instead, but I want something that would get me moving instead.

For sure. I remember a year or so ago maybe, I pulled a muscle in my back somehow, and I was in pain for what seemed like forever. I don't even know how I pulled my back muscle either. I probably strained getting out of bed or something dumb like that lol. But yeah, as I move around more, get my body back into that workout rhythm, I'm starting to feel pretty good. Still, the pain comes from working out sometimes too, but I think that's more to do with me not doing the workouts properly.

Just keep pushing forward. The body is amazing at adapting. I think my first experience with pulling my back was when I did it at the bathroom sink. I was brushing my teeth and dropped something, bent over to grab it, and couldn't stand back up straight. I felt that pain for a week. I think I was 24. Since then, I can easily pull my back and it sucks. I need to move more.

Yeah, I was 24 at the time. My doc told me this was down to not using my body enough. That and poor posture. It makes sense. I mean I know some people who are in great shape in their 50's but are very active and people younger than me now (I am 28) who struggle to get out of bed.

Oh that makes perfect sense. Sometimes bad posture and muscle activation puts certain parts of the body under more strain than necessary. I remember when I started seriously weight lifting with a trainer I was taught to tighten my core to ensure my body stayed in alignment. If saved me tremendously.

Posture and form are everything when you are weight training. I think my issue was that I developed bad posture from sitting all day at the clinic. I worked the desk in the beginning. Now I move a bit more at work which has helped but I still need to get my alignment corrected. And I need a new mattress.
