How would you Handle this situation?
I've got zero issues if the appropriate protocols aren't met. None whatsoever and were I there and he just didn't pull through because of an 'error' through all the commotion, on hood, I wouldn't lose a bit of sleep over it. In fact, I'd probably have a smirk ever time I thought about it.
Doctors are bound by the Hippocratic Oath to provide care to the sick and/or wounded; so if I were a doctor, then I would treat my patient. That being said, accidents happen. Nobody would be able to prove that my staff and I left scalpels, alcohol swabs, syringes, tainted blood vials, broken glass, urine samples, stool samples, and Ogun Juice in that klansman before we sewed him back up.

As someone who is a nurse it is absolutely immoral to not provide the best care you can for someone regardless of what their beliefs or ideologies are.
I once worked a federal prison as a nurse. I had a patient who was part of the Aryan Nation. He was racist through and through. He came in with a really bad sore on his face. From my assessment I determined he needed to be sent out to the ER for further evaluation. The guards didn't want to send him out though. They said it wasn't that bad.
Now this inmate never spoke to any of the black staff. He always would give us nasty looks. It was quite obvious how racist he was. Nevertheless his care was in my hands. I got in touch with the on call physician and fought for him to be sent out to get the care he needed.
Turns out I was right. It was a Mersa infection and had began to spread to his bloodstream. Had I not made the call to send him out it likely would have became septic and he could have died.
From that time forward that inmate always spoke to me. He made sure all the other Aryan Nation inmates showed me respect. Whevever he came to the clinic he would always request me over the other white nurses.
So one day I asked him why he always wanted me to see him instead of the other nurses. His answer was "Because you don't treat me like a criminal. You treat me like a patient."
Now maybe it's because he knew he was in good hands with me and that was it alone. Or maybe he was able to see past race and realize that it doesn't really matter. I can't truly say what was in his mind. Either way I was able to make him see that black people can be good too!

Thanks for being honest but it sounds like you were fighting for his acceptance I'm wondering how many Black People has this criminal harmed in his lifetime? Respect to you though.
