You know, I've dated a few women in my life, and most of my relationships were pretty good. I had my share of ups and downs. And I thought a few of my past relationships were with the "one", but that didn't turn out that way.

Anyway, I'm currently single and honestly, I'm not looking for anything at the moment. I figure with Covid still around anyway, it's kinda pointless to go out and date. I've been chatting with a few women from dating sites, but that's it, it's just been chatting. I was going to set a date with one of the girls I was chatting with, but before I could even ask, she tells me she got covid recently and had to quarantine in her home.

So, I've kinda said, I'm done for now. I'll keep chatting with these women, but will take it slow going forward. I'm not going to rush into meeting anyone right now, at least not until this pandemic gets sorted out some more.

You sound like you’re trying to find a way to cope with loneliness. You better dip your pen in some ink, COVID or not.

At age 34 I’m kinda ready to settle down, but I’m also loving my freedom and peace. I’m thinking I should be ready by 38/39.
That’s a solid age to play the field because at that point you got some chips, you’re confident, comfortable, know whst you want out of life, you know what you won’t tolerate, and aint afraid to send them on their way.

But there’s also nothing like having a life partner either…the dilemmas of life.

I am happily single, but I will date. I like my own company. I think men can handle single better. We aren't as bothered about being in a relationship as women. Just my guess from not just my own life but my single male and female friends. Although a growing number of my female friends are saying they are happier or better off single. But I think its more due to them not being able to find a good man and they are at an age where its not likely percentage wise.

But the guys I know who are single and want to be single, can find dates they just don't want to deal with the women available. I know guys making well over 6 figures who won't consider marriage at all. They are on the dating apps and because they are single, no kids, 6 figures, they get all types of women, not just sistas but a lot of white, latina and even asian women tryna holla.

The brothers with more standard jobs, average income, slightly above average income, aren't looking for marriage because they know they can't afford to get married. They can't provide what sistas want.

But I feel for my female homies though that want to a long term relationship if not marriage and can't find what they want. They are pretty much despondent on the choices of brothers out there. We can debate about their standards being too high or if they have the looks and personalities to attract good brothers but whatever it is, they aren't happy with the dating environment at all.

Jason Black is right about single sistas having to work till well into their 60s even if they make very good money. They don't plan as well, I'm seeing it. Got an older female relative 75 years old ,still gotta work.

Maybe some single men gotta continue to but they kinda expected to.
