If commercial "space travel" became a thing in 10 years - would you go?

I am talking about just being able to go just outside earth as Bezos did. If it became a commercial option for everyday people to pay for tickets in 10 years, is this something you would want to do? I would imagine it would be expensive.

It seems like we might be heading in that direction. Not full-blown space travel but allowing people to be outside the earth and kind of just orbiting it.

I would as long as there was no landing on another planet. I would only land on another planet if it was controlled by Black people. Emancipation Proclamation doesn’t hold water on the moon.

Shows like, "The Expanse" while the show in of itself fictional has some grounded ideas as per the author; it kinda shows how life off earth would look like to some degree and how living in space or zero gravity for years would do to the body. But I would assume traveling from one planet to the next or even on the moon would be very pricy for a while but then work something like Jet blue and have something affordable for everyone.

Are we heading for the direction? Yes and no, Yes because ever since NASA funding is waxed and wained throughout the years others are trying their own methods to getting into space and being that is happening its becoming independently and if its becoming independently that means the cost will be expensive. Even if its just an orbiting deal, I actually looked at one of their websites like Blue Origin they ask for damn near $8,000+ dollars and up and that's the future for now until they work on that price or until god forbids something happens with this planet!

With it going independent the space colonies will end up being slave colonies. You will shop at the company store, live in the company living quarters, breath the company supplied air, drink the company supplied water…it’s a losing bet.

Pretty much. As i mentioned, "The Expanse" shows that type of depiction very heavily; which is why I put that show/novel as an example of how the future of independent space and how it would look like under that type of exploration. While we all wish it could be like a Star Trek-ish future I doubt that would be the case its too fantastical.

That is a great show and I like how the people started to revolt against the corporatocracy.

Exactly, It goes hard against the bureaucracy! and if focuses on the blue collars, the "Slave" workers, and the governmental aspects. While itself fictional with the whole conspiracy's it still is fully grounded in science and what could occur if that future is set.

He’s a flat earther who believes the earth is a snow globe.
I'm NOT a flat earther (those people are the worst, especially the black flat earths, think they rank 2nd to the RainbowCoons in most annoying groups), I think it's just interesting, the man said it may be a trick bag lol

My apologies, I never saw the show so wasn’t familiar with the narrative.

Fam, you need to unpack that, I think I understand what you mean but can you spell it out for me? lol
According to the scriptures this is the real cosmology of the 'universe'.

As you can see there's no way out of earth.

What makes black flat earthers so bad in your opinion? Me personally i don't know exactly the shape of the earth but since the Creator gave US the ability of critical thinking, i postulate the rulers of our current system could be lying to us about this subject.

I wish they bit off Halo more. Vannick is way more Master Chief than the Master Chief they have in the show.
I do see that. But what i was reading from an interview with the creator of Halo tv show is that he never played the video games and only when by what other people and the cliff notes sort of speak. So that's why you seeing an alternative take from the games...which is weird. But I see that they are slowly moving towards its way towards the games on the show....somewhat!

    lucious lyon wtf GIF

They just took Halo and did whatever they wanted to and Microsoft just let them. They are running Halo into the dirt. How you got Chief who ain’t took his helmet off since 2001 taking it off in the first episode?

I am not sure if or when people would ever get to a point where they are living in space. At the rate people are going on earth, I just don't see it happening. I can see us offering "space rides" though. Not going away from the earth but just going to the point where you are considered to be in space.

I wouldn't mind taking a look at the earth from the outside in space. I've mentioned in one of my replies about Blue Origin (Jeff bezos owned) which does exactly that now; the issue is that the price is damn near you have to be an actor or bill gates to get on those shuttles.

Everything is expensive when it is new. Remember when commercial flight was first introduced? Only rich people could afford it but eventually, they got the costs down so low, that anyone can afford to fly.
