If Netflix takes Dave Chappelle's special down, they better take down Cuties

For those who remember, Cuties was a show or film about young girls who did very suggestive and sexual dancing. I never watched it, but saw various videos about how messed up it was. It was released on Netflix of all platforms, and received a ton of backlash, rightfully so. But, it feels as if no one really made that big of a fuss compared to the Dave Chappelle special. Why didn't anyone from Netflix walk out during that mess? No, they have to walk out because of comedy.

Kinda sad where their priorities are. Allowing a film/show with underage children being sexual, but they throw a fit about a comedy special? Honestly, I think they should still take that program down. The fact they still haven't weirds me out.

I never watched it

So basically you going off of others second hand accounts.

Also

Nearly three-quarters (72 percent) said they thought the controversy was “overblown” once they actually saw the movie, according to PostVOD’s survey of 96 viewers. Of that group, 38 percent strongly agreed.

    Quote the whole thing though:

“At the same time, 48 percent strongly agreed shouldn’t be on Netflix, while 17 percent somewhat agreed.”

So almost half of them felt that it should not be on Netflix and 17% were on the fence about if should be on there. The movie literally launched talking about the main character, a little girl, joining a twerk crew. I don’t want to watch a movie about a little girl on a twerk team dancing in provocative outfits. If that was not what the movie was about then it’s the marketing a director’s faults for misrepresenting their film.

But that's not what the movie is about.

it was totally on the fault of the marketing and the end result the black director got death threats as the end result.

Yeah, they really should remove that movie from streaming either way. I heard they kinda buried it after the controversy.

I have no intentions of watching it either. From the YouTube videos I watched about the controversy, I know enough that this movie is just wrong. They could have easily used adult actresses, but they used actual children in really suggestive situations and with really creepy camera angles. There's a ton of commentary videos that paint a pretty clear picture of how messed up this movie is. I don't think you need to watch something to 100% grasp what it is if you see enough of the bad.

But go ahead and watch it to make your own opinion, I don't plan to ever watch it, even if some people claim it wasn't as bad as people said.

Survey of 96 viewers though, doesn't say much at all.

Doesn't change the fact that there are extremely inappropriate scenes with underage children. With camera angles that aim on their crotches and butts. I'm sorry, but that point is moot when you show scenes like that with children. No matter what the context of the movie is, it's still wrong.

What do we get out of defending these rich black folk? I don't need any of them to speak for me. So why put in the energy for them, when we should be using it for one another?

So a Black man talking about White racism in the LGBT community is not worthy of defending but this director making a movie of little girls dropping it like it’s hot is? And u got a sex addiction.

Not what you think I am. I’m just showing an example of what you cape for.

    Who's caping for what?

That movie and the uproar, whether justified or not, was yesterday's news.

The marketing department fucked up and the end result is a black director caught hell when the movie had different intentions.
Netflix is staying by the film as they are Chappelle's special.

Nothing is going away is my point, so why should any of us lose sleep over this?
