Police are due for a much needed change, with their rules, how they do their job and so on. Many have tried to defund the police or outright remove them from power. What happens if police are no more, as in they close up shop or they disband the police force altogether. What would replace cops? I heard a while back that it would probably go to private policing from other agencies and groups.

I think the inevitable is that cops will be replaced by people who are just like cops and do the same exact thing.

Change does need to be made, that much is true. Either replacing police forces, or a complete rehaul of the police in general.

What do you think will happen if we got rid of police and replaced it with something else?

I think the over simplification is no police. It's really police reform when you get to the meat and bones of it. My view is for the feds and states to root out the white supremacist from that 2006 FBI report. And have the PDs run by people (my idea is retired military police officers) who want true reform.
Some reform can include requiring cops to be insured like doctors, dentists, other professionals against malpractice, etc. Fed government and state governments withold funding for any PD that hires cops who have been fired for abuse in a previous job.

Ultimately, police need to be abolished. It is poverty management/enforcement. It just isn't a healthy institution for the populace including the police themselves. But It's a process. We'll probably go through lot of modifications (reforms) before we get there.

As a collective, we will habitually support the police until we realize they exist as a replacement for justice, especially economic justice.

Personally, I don't think it matters too much what they are replaced with (reformed into), the problems will persist until the collective decides injustice for anyone is unacceptable.

When we had our own thriving communities (Tulsa, Durham, Wilmington, Rosewood), there was very little crime. People policed themselves. People were on a code. Not suggesting that but just saying that when you have economic success, low crime rate comes with it. There is an area in LA called Windsor Hills, bottom of it is close to Crenshaw Blvd. ...yes THAT Crenshaw blvd that is mentioned in lots of songs, Crenshaw Mafia bloods (a little ways south), etc. They had virtually no crime. It was an upper middle class black area for year (gentrified to some extent now).

Baldwin Hills are of LA was known as the Black Beverly Hills, at the bottom of it was 'The Jungle' of Training Day fame. Stones throw from each other, complete opposite crime stats.

You'd be surprised how much crime drops and a need for police is when you have an economic base.

What was the original concept for a police force? -slave patrols to hunt and capture runaway slaves which has evolved at pace with modernity cloaked with a thin veneer of respectability but at its core it's still a WS anti black injustice establishment serviced by cowardly race soldiers that receive a stipend whereas initially it was a compulsory civic duty of all eligible white men. It has been a spectacular failure from the start because of what it was borne out of -race hate!
Community justice is the way forward for numerous practical and beneficial reasons with a proven track record. The jewish and chinese communities are permitted to police their own so why not expand that model. It will continue to fail and worsen under the current corrupt system. Reform has inevitable knock on effects that terrifies them -diminished authority. They'll not want black communities policing their own because it would remove their ability/gratification to brutalise and kill us with impunity and ultimately collapse their profitable prison institutions and undermine the school to prison pipeline and racist court system. It would remove their power to harass and corral us and make them feel even more insecure just like the thought of reparations.
