This is somewhat "old news" by now as it came out a week ago at this point but they made a deal with Microsoft to pretty much collect data and search history on people. If you use this search engine, I suggest you switch to something else now. You can't trust a company that takes private information and sells it.

Is it Google that doesn't do the same thing? All of them are selling our data for their own profit making and there is nothing that we can do about it except stop using their services which is almost impossible for us to do.

Yup, they sold out. There's no benefit to using DuckDuckGo anymore.

Google does the same thing and Duck Duck Go made a name for itself by professing to be different. But they sold out recently especially regarding Ukraine. If you had any Ukraine dissent on your site they would simply not display your site.

I heard about the news last month. I deleted Duck Duck Go and am now using Opera.

When DDG was caught spying,I stop using the service.Tried to inform friends and family but when the whole Ukraine thing happen then they listen.If the family wants alternatives there are Brave Search,Ecosia,Mojeek, and Qwant.

Thanks for sharing alternatives. I use Opera now instead of Google and DDG.

I use Startpage. They use Google results without any tracking. It is transparent and completely open source. I will make use of Brave Browser once they have better search results. It can be a bit of a mixed back right now.

I want to use Brave but their search engine is still hit or miss with certain things. It will take time to improve and when it does, I will use them just like I use the browser.

Agree. Google tends to bring up what I want more often than every other search engine I used. I won't use DDG anymore.

The powers that should not be want to turn the whole world into China. China is their blueprint. Total control of the world. Total censorship. This is how we know that every news story that makes the mainstream press is what they want people to know.

I heard so much about DuckDuckGo but I have never bothered about using their services. I'm very well satisfied with Google and until that changes, I'm not interested in looking elsewhere for search engines alternatives.

I still have to use Google for a few things that are incompatible with all other search engines.
