Who are the candidates in LA that support a real Black agenda? Or anywhere for that matter? I would throw my full support behind a candidate if someone was ten toes down. But I certainly didn;t see it where I live.
The YouTube buzzwords and catchphrases are cute, but they don't work in real life.
A REAL Black agenda is stopping racist white politicians from denying parole to the Black people who will systematically and unjustly targeted by laws like the one in the tweet above.
If you're going to do nothing until some magical candidate shows up with a gift basket full of reparations, then you're out of your mind. #EffYoCouch

Btw, Bmick#8 when I wrote "you" and "you're", I wasn't aiming directly at you. That was a general "you", not a personal shot.

Solid. I figured as much and agree with you. But seeing how we been voting these last few years, its obvious we are not a politically astute group.

That's the sad part. Immediately after slavery, Black Americans started becoming a politcal powerhouse, which caused our enemies to start tricknology campaigns to convince us to give up our political power. It's finally starting to work, too. The white man has their bought & paid for YouTubers working overtime to convince our people that the couch is a viable option. Unfortunately, the old saying is true: if you tell a lie enough times, then people will start to believe it.
Meanwhile, no other ethnic group in America is talking about a stupid couch.

Louisiana Gov signs bill that includes no parole eligibility for future offenders, more legal protection for cops and more death row execution methods

BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — Eight recently passed bills, including legislation that will treat all 17-year-olds who commit crimes as adults and harsher penalties for carjackings, were signed by Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry on Wednesday.

Spurred by violent crime in Louisiana cities and a new tough-on-crime governor, the GOP-dominated Legislature gathered for a two-week special session last month to address crime — at which time they passed a slew of policies that will overhaul elements of the state’s criminal justice system.

Among one of the most controversial bills passed this session and signed by Landry is a measure that will roll back Louisiana’s “Raise the Age” law — a historic bipartisan criminal justice reforms passed in 2017. The new legislation will treat all 17-year-olds charged with crimes, including misdemeanors, as adults.
During Landry’s ceremonial signing bills into law in New Orleans on Wednesday, he also gave his seal of approval to legislation that makes certain juvenile criminal records public, funding for a new Louisiana State Police contingent in New Orleans — dubbed Troop Nola — and a measure that gives law enforcement officers “qualified immunity from liability.”

In addition, Landry signed several bills that toughen penalties for certain crimes — including a minimum of 25 years in jail in cases where someone distributes fentanyl in a way that appeals to children, such as the shape, color, taste or packaging design. A day earlier, Landry signed a wave of bills that include expanding death row execution methods, concealed carry of a gun without a permit and legislation that effectively eliminates parole for most jailed in the future.

The new Republican governor has vowed to crack down on crime in Louisiana, a state that in recent years has had one of the highest homicide rates in the country. The issue became a pivotal part of his gubernatorial platform as he often pointed at New Orleans, which has been in the national spotlight for violent crime and will be the site of the 2025 Super Bowl.

As in other parts of the country, violence surged in Louisiana following the onset of COVID-19. And while data from the Federal Bureau of Investigation shows that crime has steadily decreased in Louisiana over the past decade, New Orleans has continued to struggle with a surge of killings. Louisiana’s debates during the special session echo conversations taking place in statehouses across the country, including over how long someone should go to prison, how to handle juvenile offenders and if and when incarcerated people deserve a second chance. Republicans say the bills passed this session prioritize victims and will keep criminals behind bars and off Louisiana streets. Democrats say most of the measures won’t deter crime and that lawmakers needs to take a holistic approach, digging deeper to address the root of the issue.
Lawmakers won’t have to wait long for another chance to tackle the challenges Louisiana faces, as the Legislature will convene again next week for the start of their regular three-month session.

Negroes gonna "Black agenda" their way into pure bullshit. Google Project 2025.

There's going to come a day when we finally convince enough cac politicians to vote for reparations and it will be shot down by the judges the "black agenda" nikkas let get in by being agents or ignorant.

I hope I'm wrong, but the black farmers and student loans being blocked says it all.

I personally don't think we're going to get what we want playing their game. TO quote Jason Black, "our survival should not be up for a vote."
Meanwhile, every other ethnic group is gaining ground by showing up to the polls. Nobody is telling them to give up their political muscle.
But then again, the YouTubers are only saying what their handlers tell them to.

voting alone isn't going to get things done.....Asians don't vote in large numbers and neither do Jewish groups.....
Flip that around. Neither Asians nor Jewis have bought & paid for YouTubers telling them to willingly give up their political power. Instead of using other groups to "yeah but..." and "what about", look what is ACTUALLY being done to us!

politicians respond to money.....and we ain't got any. We have to buy them off
We have plenty money. We're the largest consumer spending bloc in America.
Instead of buying rims, lacefronts, bundles, and name brand fad clothes, we can afford whatever candidate we want.
Like I said yesterday, the YouTube talking points don't work in the real world. There is no valid reason why we shouldn't use our political power. Before you look for another excuse, though, re-read the tweet and the article about what's happening in Louisiana. Instead of fishing for reasons to be docile, look at what the politicians that our enemies have VOTED into office are doing. This is America, EVERYTHING runs on politics.

I really don't think voting matters unless you can make politicians respond to your demands. Politicians have to be paid for, and must suffer consequences when they don't do what they are paid to do. I agree that voting matters, but just voting for the sake of voting is pointless. Now, we should be building and grooming our own candidates to support our agendas. To your point though, Atlanta screwed themselves by not showing up to vote against Fani Maye Willis and we see how that turned out. I think you're looking at a symptom and not the problem itself, the problem isn't voting as much as Blacks aren't politically educated on voting in our best interests. How many people (Black or white or other) can name their local alderman, city council memmebrs or congresspeople? At teh saem time, I'm only really giving my online time to 2 or 3 political channels at most, so I don't know what everyone is saying. Too much disinformation on all sides......but its hard to really be educated when folks are struggling to make ends meet. We're still in survival mode as people and its keeping us from actualizing as a unit.

A lot of us did vote against her, we were outnumbered. There's an extremely old voting mindset here that refuses to educate themselves until it's too late. Just look at the lack of push back John Lewis received. Sure he helped a few people here or there, but overall he did nothing for the community that continuously put him up. There is another Black lady down here (I can't remember her name) that did a LOT for the community. Guess what they did? Voted her out. Now the NPUs are suffering... people don't even show up for those. And the ones that do? Outnumbered by ignorance.

A lot of Black people do not show up to vote or participate at a community level. And the people they do end up supporting, essentially stab them in the back with no consequences.

If anything, people need to get involved at Community levels first. The people running for office show up at community meetings, in addition to police reps, emergency service reps, school reps, etc. A LOT happens there, but the people are nowhere to be found.

(Disclaimer: I am speaking about what happens in Atlanta.)

I agree with you. Going to vote is only 1 small (but important) step. We have to CONTROL our elected officials, as Dr. Claud Anderson teaches. The political process includes us financing a candidate, voting them into office, and leaning on that candidate once they're in office.
That's what other groups do, and that's why white folks have more political power in largely Black states.

Good point. A lot of people only think about Presidential elections when you mention voting. Meanwhile, racist judges, sheriffs, comptrollers, school board members, mayors, aldermen, delegates, state senators, etc. are all voted into office because we don't show up on local election day.

Can't even start with the racist judges, we have judges here that don't want to work. They run unopposed and people act surprised when court takes forever and a day.
