So my Twitter notifications were going a little berserk last night. Apparently, Rockstar is shelving the RDR2, RDR1 and GTA4 remasters ON BOTH NEXT-GEN CONSOLES.

Why? To dedicate time and resources to the HIGHLY anticipated GTA6. While I'm beyond ecstatic that Rockstar clearly understands the assignment here, the 3 games mentioned are classics. Those titles deserved all the accolades they originally received when they were released and most certainly deserve Upgrades and Remasters respectively, now. From what it sounds like, Rockstar isn't abandoning the idea, they just aren't going to go back to the drawing board until after 6 is out and about. Nevertheless, I'm very concerned about this rumored decision because if they do this and 6 is a glitchy, unremarkable shit-show at launch(like The Trilogy was)....whewwwww boy this'll get ugly between Rockstar and the fans.

After remastering GTA V 7 fucking times they need to lay off remastering anything and work on those ailing mechanics. Same with the AI, how the hell the I get a star when I kill a someone when no one is around? Also why is all the shooting wack a mole? It’s time for rockstar to make next gen gameplay.

I stopped playing GTA Online for those exact wanted level issues. I couldn't be bothered. And yes they do need to get back to making immersive stories the hallmark of their games. But GTA Online is the cash cow and I don't think they're going to go "back to basics" if they don't have to. Which is all the more reason why I'm concerned about 6. Because they've made it clear that online was going to be their new cornerstone.

I’m surprised they’ve been working on a GTA6 after all these years! I’m happy we’re finally getting it, however it does suck that they’re canning the RDR, and RDR2 remasters though. Funny enough I got my MIL a copy of the first RDR on the PS3 and offered to let her borrow my ps3 to play it but she hasn’t even touched the game. Ngl I’m tempted to ask her if I can have the game.

I haven't played more than 15 minutes of gta outside of the one on Dreamcast & even I know they need to stop bullshytting and drop 6 already

From a narrative perspective they need to go back to 4. That was such a beautiful story and I agree with Troy they need upgrade the mechanics severely. I’m not going to buy it until I see extensive gameplay. The formulaic missions are a bore to me.

I enjoyed the storyline of 4 and San Andreas as well. I also messed up a semester of college over GTA online 😆

I played with my wife as well as did heists with her my father in law and my uncle in law.
That being said I feel they should do a hybrid/ mmo version of GTA where you play through an immersive story as yourself. No dialogue like the character on 3. Then you can take all your experience amd earned income into the online gameplay. But after all this time I agree it better be a masterpiece when it drops.

I wouldn't mind them reviewing the stories of Vice City(RIP Ray Liotta aka Tommy Vercetti remember the name), San Andreas, and 4; even though 4 isn't really my favorite, it wasn't a bad story and the missions were fun. Then really examine why those 3 games are so heralded and beloved. Finally, try to create a brand new immersive story with those aggregated themes.

That was such a beautiful story and I agree with @Troy they need upgrade the mechanics severely.

Re: Story - It wasn't terrible but San Andreas was better IMO; Re: Mechanics - I wasn't a fan of the shitty camera angles even when trying to spin the camera around it was still a bitch. The aiming seemed more involved than it needed to be even when it was on the basic aiming setting and the whole controlling 3 different characters...interesting idea but poor execution.

That's totally, fair. I feel like I'll GameFly it Day 1 and then keep it and pay with my membership discount if it passes my "1 hour to impress me" test.

Rockstar is on my last nerve. Like yeah, I am glad they are finally moving forward but they milked the f out of GTA V. Then they disappointed everyone with RDR2. The story was fine but online was a hot mess. It has been almost 10 years... A new GTA should have come out way sooner. I am guessing we won't see a release until 2024/2025.

I know! I mean I was more hyped for that than GTA online. I love that horseback old country nonsense. They ruined it. Now I have no faith in them. If they mess up this next one, I feel like that is going to be the breaks. You saw what happened after that Cyberpunk game hit a brick wall. So many people were pissed. There was no coming back from that. Even after they fixed it millions of fans moved on. Rockstar better watch their steps!
