Well, Mr. Elder... the idea of reparations isn't really political party specific. Reparations is owed by THE U.S. GOEVERNMENT which includes ALL POLITICAL PARTIES. The U.S. GOVERNMENT sanctioned antebellum slavery, not just the Democrats, not just the Republicans, not just the Whigs.
Nothing out of the ordinary here. Elder has always been a card carrying coon.
Strange he doesn't have that same energy for
Japanese American internment camp descendants
(my people didn't put Japanese Americans in internment camps)
or for Jewish people (my people didn't run concentration camps
and a lot of us in spite of the racist atmosphere, still went and
fought the battle that freed the hostages of these camps)
And by the way, many of us are taxpayers too
who are owed for racist, oppressive conditions
that occured long before the European holocaust
and continued long, long, afterwards.
Add to this the lack of significant consequences creating
ongoing racism that emboldens so many
racists...who, for generations, grew accustomed
to benefiting off a system that artificially discounted
the humanity of the very people whose centuries of unpaid
labor and withheld ability to pass on generational wealth...
created one of the richest nations on the planet .
But this "not so wise" Elder ONLY shows this
convenient "outrage" when it comes to trying to sell Black people
short in order to appeal to his racist paymasters.
Disgusting.
Also, does Larry Elder have an issue with non-Ukrainian taxpayers having to send money Ukraine with no say in the matter? How about non-Israeli and non-Jewish taxpayers having their taxpayer dollars sent to Israel? How about taxpayers having their pool of money being looted and exploited by corporations and wealthy individuals that pay zero or next to zero in taxes? Or taxpayers having to pay over $300 million per day to house and care for illegals and non-citizens while American citizens are facing evictions and other issues without having their needs and wants met?

Where is the energy for the white slaveowners and their living descendants that not only got reparations, but were also reimbursed for "losses" during the civil War and were also able to keep all of their unearned, ill-gotten riches from centuries of chattel slavery as well as their plantations, memorabilla, and other assets?

Republicans like to say that and its a complete gaslight statement. Here is why. The slave states and the states that were involved in lynching (there were actually more lynchings in the midwest than deep south) are all the main red states now. They are all Republican now.
So, when a Republican says 'Democrat' states, its THEIR OWN STATE. In 1860 at the start of the Civil War. The slave states and the midwest states were Democrat. Look at this 1860 map.

What pisses me off is that if some random black guy like me, just an average brother can look this up, why doesn't the white boys on CNN, MSNBC when he says this stuff and worse yet, the Black talking heads like Van Jones, Trevor Noah, etc. No one challenges him.

As for Larry, I mentioned him before on why he's like this. Larry grew up in LA. He went to a famous black HS called Crenshaw HS. Crenshaw was a basketball power, had a string of LA city b-ball championships and won the state championship a few times, a few pros came out of there.
Larry was a complete nerd. There have been interviews of people from his class and no one remembers him. He was in the books (not a bad thing), came home and studied, as far as anyone knows no social activities. His brother played little league baseball and had black friends. Larry? None. He literally stayed in the house read comic books, studied and was under his moms. His dad was strict, old school, had a diner, whooped ass if they did anything wrong. Larry hated him. At one time didn't talk to him for many years. Only to his mom.
Anyway, here is how f*cked up Larry is. Larry is for school choice. Why? When he was in HS, he took spanish classes at Crenshaw. The racist city underfunded Crenshaw, even to this day. Anyway, he took a class at another LA HS called Hamilton HS, which is still around. At the time and to this day, it has a fairly large number of Jews there. More back then. The students were way ahead of him in spanish. He was used to being the best in class and he was one of the poorer kids in class. By his own words on his show '...he went home crying to his mom'. This is HS now. A grown ass boy crying his school didn't educate him enough. He said he was for school choice because he should have had the opportunity to switch schools. Now, any one who loved their community would have said 'Why doesn't Crenshaw have the same resources and why don't they have the same quality education as the predominantly white Hamilton HS?' But not Larry, he was like 'f*ck the kids at Crenshaw, I want mines and be able to leave them and go to Hamilton'. That's him. He left south Central and never looked back, never did anything for the community. He went to Brown University undergrad, an Ivy league school and he went to Michigan U law school, good law school. He had a business supplying paralegals in Ohio (I think Ohio), when he was also doing local conservative radio. Dennis Prager heard him and he was fairly big at the time and by Prager's own words. He offered Larry a job because it was the first time he heard a Black person say what about Black on Black crime, etc. basically Larry was saying white conservative talking points about blacks. He was hired because he was Black. Something Larry himself says companies shouldn't do as he was vehemently against Affirmative Action.
The fact is Larry hates himself and his own people. That's why he does it. He only dates white. He spent most of his life literally hating his own father and my guess is his father represents black men so he became a Republican and liked anything that was against black men and black people.
He eventually made up with his father. His father lived a rough azz life. His father wanted to be a chef after he left the army, I think the Korean war or WW2 one of the two. Anyway, because of racism his father couldn't get a job as a cook. He was a cook in the army and wanted to do that for his occupation. His father even offered to work for free to get experience and was denied in some restaurants.
You would think because of this experience the average black person would be angry about how much racism their own father faced and want to change society so that would never happen to anyone. Not Larry. Larry instead says 'See, if you work hard enough and persevere, you can overcome anything'. He NEVER mentions racism as the problem, but that Blacks just need to 'try harder'.
