Moreover, I am cognizant of the interrelatedness of all communities and states. I cannot sit idly by in Atlanta and not be concerned about what happens in Birmingham. Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. We are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly. King’s words after his pivot were so powerful and damn near poetic. He was every bit as uncompromising as Malcolm but I feel that he was more nurturing in his words. MLK would frame things as:

Brother I had the same realization after watching both the PBT and TBA broadcasts over the weekend. I was parts hurt, sad, confused, wanted to cry but also felt strong, proud, and fierce that I’m continuing the legacy of a warrior.
