I had a few older laptops laying around and decided to try and get back into Linux. I haven't tried Linux in over 10 years, and i have to admit, it's come a longways since the last time i used it. I'm no developer or anything i just like messing around with different OS's and, getting away from windows every now and then can be refreshing.
Seeing how clean Linux is and how fast and crisp it is makes me wish i could go full Linux, i know i cant though because of some software issues.
Anyone here run Linux or can give me some tips on software that might be cool to have?

I used Fedora and switch to Mint cause it seems to have better support for my needs and fewer issues, running Cinnamon as well.

In terms of software, it depends on your needs. I basically use everything I used on Windows prior to switching. For gaming, I use Lutris which helps if I want to run anything under EA. It can be a pain for some games but once you get it running, it is gold.

I'll check that out, I really want to be able to run steam and little nightmares on this laptop, through Mint.

I said that in reverse LOL I am on Fedora Cinnamon, coming from Mint but Lutris works on both just fine. You might have to tweak it a bit depending on your build but I have had no issues with it. I play the Sims 4 through it and it seems since they last updated it, it fixed the issue where the launcher wouldn't do a proper EA update. Had to do it manually in the folders before.
