I keep seeing headlines like this and it makes my head spin:

"Lizzo just wore Kylie Jenner's exact gold bikini – and we're here for it"

Why are they still pushing this narrative that being THAT big is beautiful? I am sorry but it is not. It is unhealthy and unattractive and it is giving girls and young women the wrong impression. You think this will be beautiful when she struggles to have children or when she is hooked up to oxygen with a failing heart?

I read just the other day that 78% of Americans are overweight and how bad that is for health, yet we have people who continually put big ass women like Lizzo up on a pedestal. Why is it that most of the time, it is black women being pushed to stay obese and they say "oh we are here for it girllll!". Makes me sick. They legit want us so fat we can't do anything. Probably an agenda to get us to stop having children. They want all of us fat, happy, and dumb. Every time I see this woman I work out more and I eat better. Jokes on these fools.

Yo' tell me that editorial don't sound like a PR piece?

She's looking downwards at the photographer, and the pose makes her look powerful, like the goddess she is, and she's angled herself so the sun is illuminating her face from above. I
we're here for this confident display of body positivity (and could definitely take some lessons from her photogenic poses).
She's since followed up with another couple of Instagram posts: the first is a video that features her wearing a pair of denim cut-out shorts and a bikini while dancing on a sun lounger, and the second is another carousel post including that itsy-bitsy gold bikini.

    Now here's the propaganda:
Seeing two of the most high-profile celebrities going rocking the same kind of design on two different body shapes – Kylie Jenner's conventionally-slim aesthetic, while Lizzo flies the flag for plus-sized beauty – and both looking beautiful is another example of how representation can prove just so powerful.

I try to avoid discourse on her because she's a family friend, but I don't think what the industry is doing to her is fair at all. She's actually legitimately talented and can make any kind of music, but instead of focusing on that they make her the face of body positivity, a very malicious movement that makes the general public shit on her even more.

These record label executives know how the general public is gonna respond, hell they knew that she got it bad even before they tried to make her some mascot. Now it's worse, and she's in a precarious situation; either take the slander or lose weight and a solid portion of her fanbase. The entertainment industry is evil as fuck, and you have to lose something to make it like that.

I'm just only to copy and paste some of what I posted on the "Is the Hip Hop Superstar Dead" thread that is relevant to this situation:

I don't like how the industry is having Lizzo out here looking like a damn fool while she is also proudly allowing it. She has enough talent to not need to resort to attention seeking antics and looking tacky. She couldn't just be the oversized chick who just happens to know how to make decent music? No... she and those above her wanted her to not only over-promote the whole "Being Fat and Plus Sized is Okay" thing, they also had to have her twerking around half-naked like the rest of her female peers do while doing it. I guess they didn't want 1 Black female rapper / singer to stand out in an actual good way. They all have to twerk their asses off, pop their WAPs, and be tacky while doing it.

The Art of Peer Pressure and the Agenda is real.

They also want us to be dysfunctional, depressed, self-loathing, suffering and overall unhappy, etc. They also want us dying or dead too. And if obesity doesn't kill us, then of course they'll have racist medical staff and doctors help in having us die sooner, especially if we are ever to be hospitalized.

It's a sick, cruel joke for these record executives and media people to trick her into thinking that everyone loves her and her weight and how great she looks in all of these outfits / garments she wears, yet behind her back they are actually laughing at her or disrespecting her name. Like a malicious friend telling you that you look amazing in a hideous dress, but as soon as you walk away that laugh at you hysterically. Same situation here. It's like a humiliation ritual, except Lizzo doesn't seem to fully understand that she is lowkey being humiliated and in some cases humiliating herself. She just brushes it off and doesn't care as she continues to be a "bad bish." They are just using Lizzo to push their own agendas and narratives.

On top of that, I feel that deep down she lowkey wants to lose at least some of that weight and she also feels pressured into being this plus sized mascot in order to continue pleasing people, her audience, and her masters. Like she feels trapped because ironically while her message is that it's okay to be yourself and love yourself for who / what you are, she might still not actually love herself and even her weight, only the attention that she and her weight and antics bring. I'm not even sure if she feels that the support and admiration from her fans is even enough. All of that along with the generally negative or even outright hostile comments she receives are what probably mess with her, especially when she is seen breaking down from time to time.

I don't think that Lizzo is physically ugly, but I think that her public antics are. Like Trillfate said, Lizzo has a pretty face. Having a pretty face doesn't mean she needs to have her whole (flat) butt out at a Lakers game, though. There's another video of Lizzo twerking in a park a few yards from a children's party. Behavior like that is ugly whether a woman is a size 2 or a size 20.

That is the thing. She IS talented and she seems to be a beautiful person but she is being used as a weapon against black women. Telling them being obese is beautiful. If she feels good at that size (I don't think she does) then good for her but she has to realize there is a difference between having fat and being fat. Once you cross a level where your health is at a great risk, you are just looking a damn fool out there. Not to mention, most people who praise her and prop her up are WHITE WOMEN and GAY MEN.
