Jackson Mississippi is under attack by the racist legislation of Mississippi. From the water to this bill, they want the black people out! Believe me, this is a testing ground! We are heading closer to something many of us don't want to do. Lines continue to be crossed.

Federal violations may have happened but its initially a state issue. That said, white supremacy as we know, are always on the attack. They are obsessive. And now its up to the people of Jackson and the blacks in Mississippi to fight back and outside the state, the rest of us do what we can in terms of awareness, pressure, etc.

Will they fight? I have my concerns.

And what is the Biden Administration doing about this?

Do not forget, this is happening under their watch.

    He gave them 800 million.

I know it's fuck Biden, but jumping over total republican control of this situation to him ain't the biz.

All I picture is the racist Mississippi officials mismanaging the $800 million, gatekeeping it from Black residents, and sliding some of that to Brett Favre while Biden shrugs his shoulders as he says, "Well, I did do something?"

Understood, but if Biden gave the money, he has control of the money. This is a concerted effort by all parties, not just the state of Mississippi.

The state already trying to take control water now that they got money. Idk how much the feds can prevent that.

Then what's the point of the money and all that? Makes no sense to put on a show they gonna get no credit for.
That state means nothing to democrats nationally.
The subjugation of black people is all the credit the Democrats and white supremacy needs.

It's a state issue, not a federal one. This has nothing to do with Biden. Presidents don't have a magic wand, and they can't just supercede state governments. As much as I don't like Jim Crow Joe, this isn't on him.

Just like he didn't control the money for incentivizing the attack on black people with his sentencing laws, but he controlled the purse strings. States rights was given because the south would not acquiesce to the north. The fact is that both parties work hand in hand to subjugate the Indigenous people of this land. Biden could change things with a stroke of a pen and by controlling the money, but he won't, and he has not.

Revolution_2 I can't respond to you directly under your question to me, so I had to make a new post.
My statement still stands, though. I understand why you would want Biden to swoop in, but the situation in Jackson is something that we should applying pressure on Gov. Tate Reeves to change. Again, this is a state issue, not a federal one.

The fact is that Biden has the power. He is the President. I get the semantics of state vs. fed but we know when they want to do things. It gets done. These people don't live in a bubble, and they know what's going on. This entire debacle is intentional, and it comes from the top.

"5. Can the president instead achieve his goal by leveraging control over discretionary forms of financial and other aid?

On the one hand, it is clear from cases like South Dakota v. Dole and N.F.I.B. v. Sebelius that when Congress places conditions on state receipt of federal funds, those conditions are unconstitutional if they are sufficiently compelling to be deemed coercive. In such instances, the federal condition is tantamount to forbidden commandeering. Just where that line lies, of course, is not at all clear. But that’s not really our current situation, is it? "
