Reparations is ONLY about US slavery and those affected by it. But California's "Reparations Task Force" put trick language in their resolution saying it should apply to all black people in the state prior to 1900. As we anticipated this was meant to be the first step towards making reparations just like Affirmative Action and applying it to every non-black group and then claim it was done just for us.

    Listening right now...

Uhh.. i mean.. its just.. sooo... weird (disrespectul and infuriating).. that people go out of their way to dilute the claim of descendants of slavery to include others. Its just odd that people who immigrated here feel so comfortable doing this..

The analogy i can make is this feels like stealing change from a homeless man, like how do you justify doing that?

It doesn't matter how aggrieved your group is or how mistreated they were after fleeing here, it wasn't worse than chattel slavery itself. The reason why this is even being discussed is because we're all descendants and not the actual people involved obviously but IMAGINE its 1892 and an immigrant with free will explaining to an actual life long slave why he deserves the same compensation for what he has been through.. what could he say that would make sense to the SLAVE??

I think the error in the broadcast was that he talked about what he didn't like but didn't say what he would recommend. Because there's two things:
    • Injured Party
    • Eligibility
There will already be hurdles in the simple "if your family was here before 1900's" standard but let's say they restrict it to "If your ancestor was on a plantation" how much harder would it be to prove? How many of us would be able to trace back a particular ancestor, to a particular plantation, and to a particular slave owning family? If we go with a "if you''re here before x" standard maybe we can push it back to 1870 to weed out a bit more but IMO if we go with the before 1900 standard and 2 or 3 immigrants slide in out of every 100 Black Americans I would be fine with that". It'd be better than 98 immigrants for every 2 Black Americans like we see now.

But no matter where you fall, this type of scrutiny is necessary and the Reparations Task Force should be able to have answers for it.

I guess I and many other FBADOS people nowhave to stop saying the word "Freedmen" to refer ourselves. 😓

From now on, it's just going to be Foundational Black American Descendants of American Slavery. You must be Black have at least 1 FBA parent. No exceptions. And both you and the FBA Parent(s) must be able to trace back your ancestry to the Plantations. No exceptions.

navigating through the mess is a bit tricky. but I can see a LOT of white people taking advantage of this. Someone referred to America as a mutt country. lol. So there's so many layers to this.

I was hoping PBT would go deeper, but I'll save my thoughts for the Lunch Break tomorrow night.

If you include Descendants of American Slavery why do you have to include Foundational? Are there DOAS that are not foundational?

If they would have given our Black enslaved ancestors their cash reparations with additional benefits AND LEFT THEM THE FUCK ALONE AFTERWARDS IN THE FIRST PLACE (no sharecropping, no lynching, no redlining, no anti-Black terrorism, no economic deprivation, no Jim Crow, no discrimination and disenfranchisement, no predatory games, no grand theft, no burning down and of Black Wall Streets and Black neighborhoods, etc), WE WOULD NOT BE DEALING WITH THIS SHIT.

Because I don't want any thieving pale cave demons and any non-Black or Black non-FBA people to fraudulently and deceitfully claim that they are "Descendants of American Slavery." We have to be clear. You have to be Black AND of a specific lineage (a lineage the goes all the way back to the American Slave Plantations).

How does Foundational make it clear though? What does Foundational add that Descendants of American Slaves doesn't already provide?

    That's the only way...

Immigrants should just be on code if they're not eligible. And if they are really black and they really understand black culture they know they will benefit from the trickle down 1 way or another..

How can someone trace back to a particular plantation. What if they can trace back to the 1870 Census but not to a plantation? Are they not eligible?

Foundational Black = We, Our Ancestors, or Our Ancestors' Slavery Are The True Foundation and Backbone of This Country. This nation was built by us and the wealth was generated from our enslavement, forced labor and production.

Descendants of American Slaves = This is Our Lineage. We descended from these great human beings who happened to be enslaved in America.

If you combine and define these 2, it leaves less room for confusion, willful ignorance, and bastardization.

Honestly if nothing else, 1870 or 1880 should be the cut off date. People are talking about how a bunch of immigrants were pouring into the US right after the end of slavery, but vast majority of those immigrants were whites from Europe and maybe very few Chinese. Most non-white immigrants didn't starting coming into America in droves until the mid-late 1900s.

None whatsoever. They had sided with WS and I am starting to look at the whole group as "Imported Black Problems" with WS thinking in place. I feel they don't have a dog in this fight and they know that, they just want to be a rock in the shoe of FBA's getting what's owed.

Seems like a mouthful but I don't like Tariq so I'm biased.

Ok so then what's the issue about setting it to post 1900s if non-white immigrants weren't here?

He seems like a snake oil salesman to me. He gives me vibes as if he is more about himself than the community.
Totally understand. He makes way, way, way more money than the typical Black person does. He could've worked together with others to have a Black media apparatus that is independent of YouTube. Other groups of people would not keep staying on our platforms at a high rate like we do YouTube.

I feel you on that because that "Ogun Juice" pepper spray statement about that Ga. shooting victim was a bad taste for a sales pitch. I mainly listen to the message he brings and not his so called comedy.

Tariq is an opportunist. Just like Umar, Moist Watkins & so many others! They're using their own people to make their money!
That million dollars for this museum could be best spent buying land (outside of Cali) and letting "Proven" FBA's to place businesses on it with a rent with offer to buy options. But that's just me. I don't like museums because there are never enough windows to reach if something pops off.

The museum is going to be his little trophy that he can host his movie screenings in. He's a great hustler but is he the new Malcolm X like some people make him out to be? No! They don't even know Tariq in real life they just know him from Youtube videos.

Thats what I think. Why put a museum for us in a town with a very small Black percent population? Crazy. Tariq spends so much time on videos. How can he be truly building for the people?

I look at it like he tells the truth about our enemy, so then from there, he sells the truth about our enemy. He definitely profits from challenging white supremacy but personally I don't have a problem with him being compensated for what he does

I really question whether Tariq wants the Black community to start thriving since it would be a challenge to him. If more of our people get money, then it greatly decreases the chances he will have the spotlight on him since more of our people will be able to build a platform that could reach a sizeable number of our people.

Lol of course he does. You know that question is similar to when white supremacist on Twitter tell him you don't really want white supremacy to end because you'd be out of a job if it did. That's that's ridiculous to think that he depends on the way things are to succeed. He's still an author filmmaker and other things, so the idea that if black America progress he'll fade out is asinine
