The past two weeks I have been winding things down in preparation for a move and I'm exhausted. I finally move my stuff on Friday and can't wait. Sometimes you don't realize how much stuff you really have until it's time to move. I'm also getting new furniture so between selling stuff and breaking down old furniture it's been a whole lot. I have a moving service picking up all the boxes and ETC so at least I won't have to labor during the transit.

GwynShivers I'm sure your move was 10x worse than what I'm going through.

All this talk about moving makes me want to get up and move.

What kind of area you moving to? I hope it is away from the city. These politicians are looking to straight destroy them.

The last time I moved, I learned a lot from a co-worker. He explained how to pack and how to stay organized which made it so much easier. Like this one trick he told me about was to use garbage bags to hold clothing. You poke the hangers through the bottom all bunched together and then tie off the bag on the bag so when you get to your new spot, you just hang them and remove the bags.

Still in Cali? what made you decide to move?
the last move I made was almost 20 years ago, to the house I bought and the house I'm still in. I never wanted to have to move again, with3 kids at the time, all of their stuff, our stuff. never again! lol

Still in Cali just need more space. It’s a bit of an upgrade from where I’m at now. Gonna be a better space overall for my son and I. Next move is gonna be into a house where I’m definitely going to be at long term.

Moving is the definition of a headache. It's one of those things that'll have you standing in the middle of the room looking around and thinking "there has to be a better way to do this". The most painful part is fighting with furniture and having to bust out your knowledge on angles to get certain things out a door, then hauling them up the stairs.

Moving should be treated as a course in the University or colleges😩. The last time we moved to our current house was when I had my last baby. We had planned to move ahead of my delivery date but baby decided to show up earlier. I had him the same day we started moving. I was almost all alone at the hospital because hubby was trying to put the house in order and we have no relatives staying in the same city as ours. It was an experience I don't want to re-live.

Yes, it is an exhausting undertaking. I moved five months ago and still not entirely settled yet. Still need to finish painting -which I hate! Still undecided whether to settle or move again because this neighbourhood is too flippin nocturnal for my liking and quality sleep is a priority for me.

And deciding whether to part with stuff 🤔

Yeah it saved me soooo much time cause I had so much clothing at the time. I have since cut down and donated a lot and don't buy as much. I am trying to just keep things basic. If I like something a lot, I just get multiples of it since I know I will be wearing it.

    I think I will be moving soon, but I don't have a ton of stuff. I'm a semi-minimalist.

When you're getting the home properties, you would never know how much you are accumulating until it's time to move. When you have everything packed out, you would be like WTF? How and when did I get all these things 😂. Moving the furniture is the most difficult aspect and you can't do it alone.

Moving is never easy especially when you have a lot of things to move. I can remember the last time I moved, it took me long 3 months before I was able to unpack everything and have them all where they were supposed to be. I had to give away some stuffs that I couldn't move with me otherwise I would have been stuck for a long time.
