Does anyone here have a hobby that would be considered productive?

What I mean by that is learning a skill or working in a set skill where you can produce something for yourself or someone else. I think we all need to start acquiring hobbies like this cause the times are getting rougher by the day and having a skill like this when everything hits the fan will come of value. One of the biggest would be gardening and farming. If you can grow food and raise some hens, you are going to be a king or queen when this country goes belly up!

I make baskets for ALL occasions. Anniversaries, birthdays, Father's Day, Mother's Day, graduation, etc. It started out as a hobby, just making them to give to my family & friends. Then a family member said, "You should sell these". 🤔😁

I write as a hobby and I get paid for it. Most times I get offers to write movie scripts for a fee. It takes nothing from me cos I love writing

I have a few, but a main one I'd say is language learning. It's definitely true that we should all be learning new skills and having productive hobbies. I think it'll open the flood gates for more enrichment in the community.

I currently own a poultry farm as a side hobby. Waking up every morning to have a look at how they are doing gives me joy. Whoever that says that having these hobbies that can help you earn money is ideal is saying the truth. Let's level up with the challenges coming ahead.

Asides from writing, I love to help people choose colours and fabrics for their events, especially weddings. It is something I do with ease and it has given me money countless times.

As for my family, farming isn't a hobby only but a business source. My father inherited a plantain and coco plantation. It's been our family's business for years and it's making a lot of money for us. As for a hobby, I enjoy giving gym lessons to my online followers and help them keep fit. I might monetize it in the future but it's not yet time.

I really would like to spend more time learning more about PHP and Javascript, it doesn't hurt to learn multiple languages so you can work on different projects!

I have started to pick up crocheting. I crocheted a big fluffy blanket about a year ago and just recently got back into officially crocheting. I've made cats and whales and bees. Id love to try to make warm things for others for when the season finally changes 👀. If a countrywide blackout just happens to happen, at least a person can have something to keep them warm in the winter. I know there's much more important stuff than just warmth at that time lol but just saying.

The distribution is easy now because you have Spotify, YouTube, etc.

You just need to start making the music. Start with a software like FL Studio, Reason, etc.

When you start getting good you can do post it online.

Is that software free? If not, are there any free options? I just don't want to invest without knowing if I can do it. Like I want to get a feel for it first. I just like the idea of making my own music even if it is just lofi style beats.

I'm into woodworking, I usually start in the winter months when prices are lowest for wood. I also wait until the winter because the sun isn't out, It's very relaxing for me.

My girlfriend introduced me into beads making recently and I'm kind of enjoying it. It's her biggest hobby and she's doing so well with it. She sells them and makes cool money from it.
