Republicans fear AOC because she started out as a young, somewhat attractive Latina, who, at the time, defeated the 2nd ranking Democrat in the House The Republicans play the long game and they saw a potential threat to the presidency so they got on her bumper very, very hard immediately to use an old phrase 'kill the baby in its crib before it can grow up and kill you'. They had a right to fear her. In theory, she could get the Latino vote, black vote, get the Gen Z out to vote like Bernie did and worst all she couldn't be bought off. That was how she looked at first. So, they fear her.
Democrats fear her because she primaried an establishment Democrat. That is a huge no no. The Democratic establishment actually fear her more than the Republicans do. Why? The establishment Dem leadership know that even if they lose elections to Republicans they still are in power over the Democratic party which numerically is bigger than the Republicans. They still wield a considerable amount of power even if they lose the White House and Congress to the Republicans. If AOC and the progressive left get power, they are out. So, they want her completely co-opted or if not, neutralized.
Biden and Dems would secretly welcome a Republican investigation of her as well. She lost a lot of credibility with white liberals because she gave in to some stuff they thought she should have fought. She is slowly becoming a non factor. Even TYT who backed her campaign big time is now talking bad about her.
My advice to her was to stick to the progressive roots. Don't try to buddy buddy with the establishment. Vote on principle. The compromising is eroding her left base.
