What's crazy is upon his death, De La Soul was finally awarded their catalog. RIP. Trugoy was once me and my late brother's barber too....waaaay back in da day lol

I personally think Tom Silverman is indirectly responsible for Plug 2's early demise. Them boys got jerked BIG TIME. They had to work way harder to get heir bread than they should've. They should've been in the same situation as the Beastie Boys, only working when they wanted to. They should've been on easy street for as much money as they made Tom Silverman. Prince Paul says he tried steering them to other labels, but the guys wanted Tommy Boy. As it is, I wasn't crazy about De La Soul growing up, that was more of my older cousins' thing. I didn't truly appreciate them until I discovered Buhloone Mind State in college. That was the album that made me look at them differently. One of the best hip hop groups of all time. Shout out to Long Island. Best NYC rappers came from either Queens or Long Island in my opinion. De La Soul was a special group. I hope they do an oral history book (pause). That would be an incredible read.
