We can't all be business owners and entrepreneurs. I absolutely agree that more black people need to be. However if every single one of us or even just a large enough portion were to become business owners the problem will happen that there isn't enough customer base. Due to that they business won't last because of too much competition amongst each other.
Even if we create different types of businesses, there are only so many different things you can come up with and they'll eventually run each other out of business. Another problem is the are so many businesses and business owners that the isn't enough people to be regular employees. Therefore it has to be an option that black people can be successful not just through entrepreneurship and business ownership but by being gainfully employed at regular good paying jobs.
It's must quit being pushed that business ownership and entrepreneurship are the only options. I'm a nurse. I make 6 figures annually.
Rather than talking about business ownership constantly when that's not going to be viable for everyone we need to also discuss lack of education and training amongst our population. More black people need to get college education and vocational training to qualify for jobs.
Becoming an electrician, plumber, HVAC technician, nurses, x ray tech, surgical tech, respiratory therapist, dietitian, social worker, IT technician, or ER technician amongst just a few are all good paying jobs. Most of these can get you making upwards of $70k and some are above the $100k mark.
Instead of pushing for this though people sit around talking about reparations. Talking about reparations doesn't require you to do anything. Getting an education is hard work and requires you to get up and put in effort.
I'm all for reparations but in the meantime have a plan to get your bread! Don't sit around and b*tch about racism and not be taking steps to get your bread in this forsaken country!
