Name of stab-proof vest: YD Body Armor Anti Knife Stab Front and Back Armor Proof Vest.

Amazon Purchase Link:

Introduction: Although I had accidentally bought this vest in a size that didn't fit me, It still works really well because there are two velcro straps at the back of it that make sure you can still wear it comfortably. There is no protection for the sides. The only part of the suit that is still covered but is easy to stab through as it does not contain protective metal plates is the very top of of the suit that leads up to the neck, this is true for the front and back of the vest.

Front part: I think the chest area does not contain metal plates but the material is pretty thick as there is a big front pocket for placing an abundance of small items into. The stomach is of course protected by metal plates. The plates are very protective even if a Racist or fellow POW was to stab you with a small chef's knife, it would most likely hurt themselves more as when I tried stabbing through it with both hands, I almost dislocated my right wrist.

Back part: The entire back of the vest is protected.

Metal plates work against: Chef knives and bread knives.

Slice-proof gloves: The gloves that come with a bag to hold the vest in (along with a small two-page pamphlet written entirely in "so-called Asian" writing) are SLICE-PROOF NOT STAB-PROOF. The material within them is comprised of metal wires, my left glove had a metal wire sticking out at the wrist area which scraped my skin a couple of times until I noticed what the problem was.

Overall impression: The stab-proof vest does its job against predictable attacks such as chest stabs and stomach stabs. The slice-proof gloves are useful if you are handling sharp objects for example if you were to dig into a plastic package that had sharp edges with both hands while wearing the gloves, you would not get hurt so I'd imagine that if you put your hands into a box of unprotected knives, you would not be hurt either.

As in when a knife went through it, the vest couldn't be used anymore.
A reviewer also tested it using a tomahawk (hmm 🤔), and couldn't use the vest again.

The vest that I had bought works fine against chef knives and bread knives as far as I'm aware, I have tested those knives more than five times against the protective plates and the knives didn't go through the vest unless it hit the parts that were unprotected by the metal plates, I haven't been stabbed by someone yet but the copy that I purchased seems to still be working since I haven't been able to get through the metal plates with the two types of knives that were previously mentioned, perhaps many customers could have gotten a faulty copy.

I always read the reviews before buying things on the Internet and I saw that post of someone saying that it broke against a tomahawk and I'm not sure what type of vest exists to protect someone from tomohawk attacks (since I imagine that if you did survive against a tomohawk attack against your body while wearing a "protective" vest you would probably end up with quite a few broken ribs so the vest wouldn't really "protect" you from it since you can still be killed once you have your ribs broken, it would be really difficult to fend off someone while in that condition and if tomohawk attacks are frequent in your area then I'd be thinking about moving out of that area as quickly as possible instead of trying to buy a vest to protect yourself against such a heavy-hitting weapon) also, that user in particular didn't mention exactly what knife that he used it against. I didn't buy it so that it would work against a tomahawk, machetes etc. because I don't live in an area where protection against large weapons is needed, that's why I mentioned the names of the weapons that it works well against so it depends on whether you as an individual person, need it or not. In conclusion, I guess it would depend on the sole condition of the vest that you purchased to decide whether the one that you had bought is rendered to single use once it is struck by any weapon. I bought this vest to compensate for the lack of protection that I had against small knives or knives that are not incredibly sharp, that were being used in my area.

For the sake of producing correct information, I would suggest that if you are suspicious of the quality of this product then you can purchase a different vest that is better suited for your environment, my review is only a suggestion, if people are unsure of the accuracy that the protection of the vest gives then it is up to them as individuals to look up the reviews, ratings, watch videos that showcase the vest etc. in order to properly decide, for the sake of their own survival, whether the vest will protect them or not.

It's getting late at night now so I hope that this long-winded response answers your question.

At first I wondered why you would get stab proof vs bullet proof but I see the link is for the UK which makes sense. Do you get fatigue wearing it?

The vest that I had payed for was too big for me to wear properly but it didn't tire me out while wearing it at all, although that could be because I was starting to bulk up at the time (Of course, I'd suggest that if you are planning to buy one, you buy it in a size more suitable for you instead of making the same mistake as I did), I think that because of the fact that the vest is too big, the size of the vest may be part of the reason why the shoulder straps were rubbing against my skin alot and you can get very hot while wearing it which makes the skin rubbing more irritating, plus I was mostly wearing it underneath my shirts, which didn't help much.

I am so glad tests are being done by independent people. I want to trust the folks who sell me things, but that would not be smart. It is good to have honest feedback from people who have the ability to test these things.
