People are always going on and on about being energy-independent but what about our tech?

Most of what we have is outsourced from China, Japan, and other areas in Asia. With all these stocks dropping and inflation going up, a lot of this nonsense could have been avoided if we dealt more locally. I feel like all these old white people in power right now have been selling this country out since the late '60s and it has only gotten worse. The only reason people are starting to make a fuss over it though is that it is affecting middle and upper-class white families but it has been affecting black families and black homes in America since the late '80s.

The most we rely on other countries for our goods, the more at risk we are of inflation and rising prices on everything.

Also copper, gold, aluminum, zinc, iron and nickel ( the main components in computers) are mined cheaply from Africa due to Horrific ways don't look it up
So Unless you want your computer to cost at least $1000 for a Single CPU due to the cost of labor and all other things that will be factor plus regulations because you can't have third world conditions 5 cent a day in a country that has a minimum wage

I get that, the costs will be messy but we need to at least work toward something. If we continue to rely on other countries, it only takes one war or sanction, or dispute and those prices are going up anyways. Or worse, we ain't getting shit shipped to us and everything dries up on the shelves.

Well that is the CHIPS ACT in a nutshell, Biden is trying to bring national semiconductor company the same way like they did with the automobile companies. They will probably more incentives to tech manufactures to make more in house. however there is always loophole because of back money deals between the government and tech corporations.

I completely agree with you 100%. If the United States would become more independent and begin making more of our own products, we would depend less on other countries (this was pretty self-explanatory lol). With this being said, I believe the United States used to produce a lot of their own goods, and I honestly believe the government decided it would be a better idea to stop working as hard and just get it from other countries. By depending on other countries, this definitely affects inflation and other prices within the states, which we are clearly seeing the outcome of today. I used to be able to get a grocery cart full of items for $100, now I'm leaving the store with maybe 4-5 plastic bag fulls for the same price. Inflation is no joke, and I feel like we are headed down a dark road unless we stand up and start making our own products again.

I have seen the cost of my groceries go up damn near $20 per week. That is almost $80 a month. Now imagine if I had kids to feed. That would be even more. The less we rely on other nations, the better off everyone in this country is and the more wealth and opportunity there will be.

Yeah, it's unfortunate that prices continue to rise. I don't mean to be political but the current administration has really caused us a lot of issues economically. I rarely see good reviews from people on social media about the current administration, nearly every comment I read is negative. I knew it would be bad with the current administration but I didn't realize how quickly they could affect the economy. It's been hectic, and I'm not sure that we will ever recover. Hopefully, we will one day.

I completely agree with you. It's all about the money. "What can we, as politicians, do to make more money?" They don't care about the American people, they only care about themselves. There legit needs to be a system where they lose money if they are not sticking to their promises or plans or their district is failing. We also need an age limit. You have to be 35 to be a president but how about you can't be a president after the age of 65? Same with general congress positions.

Will the congress ever pass that kind of bill? They know very well, that it's them shooting themselves in the leg because it means that most of them are going to be leaving office.

That is the problem. So long as old farts run the country, they will have old fart interests. It is a shame cause they are killing the economy.
