My unpopular take - Social media itself is cool, but when it went mobile, and people started getting unlimited data plans.. the world fell apart.

Before that, you had to be home to check your messages and be active. So when you were out, you were still living life and creating relationships. After it went mobile, people can't just enjoy the moment anymore. It has to be broadcasted on social media right then. It's sad.

People cant even enjoy the human experience. I remember at a concert recording it with my phone watching it through the screen I had a personal intervention. I put my phone away and never did it again. If you didnt see it, you have to go yourself I won’t have pictures.

my lil bro sent me a facebook portal without consulting with me and he got offended when I told him I had no intention of using it. I have a burner phone and no way to face time other than zoom or google meet up, but for some reason this is more convenient for him. I don't get it.

I think social media has made society Hypersensitive to the realities of life in many ways. For example 20 or 30 years ago, if you said something disrespectful to someone, you'd have no choice but to either apologize or throw hands with them, but nowadays, people run to SM to get sympathy and clout when someone puts hands on them for talking trash. SM has ruined the dating arena for people specially looking for long term relationships. Nowadays, social media is just too much about hook up culture.

It's going to be a hive mind completely controlled, completely enslaved, completely useless. It's going to be TikTok on Human Growth Hormone. Your children will have no one to play with. People will play football in the metaverse. When you go outside your glasses will use AR to keep you in the metaverse. Like you also said, they will continue working on Androids and you'll have an android companion plugged into the metaverse. Your car is going to be in the metaverse. Finally when putting on the headset becomes too much of a hassle people will start receiving the microchip.

But do you think Social Media did that or it exposed just how ubiquitous shallowness is? Like for instance, Social Media made it easier to date, at least for me, it gave me greater access. Also would you say there was a difference between the phone and social media? I knew hella niggas that caught hands because they were talking tough on the phone.
