You'd think the people complaining realise the Little Mermaid is a fictional character and can be played by any actress. That said, Disney is a racist organisation, and no doubt they will slip in some anti-black messaging, whilst using Halle Bailey as cover.

What vibe do you get from East Asians (like the Chinese and Koreans)? Many of them act and move weird too especially whenever they get around us. As a group they are extremely reserved and keep to themselves and I notice they are generally quiet, squeamish, and move and act uncomfortable.

It's because white people want it their way or no way. They think they own these characters or something, when in fact the studios can do whatever they want with these characters. Disney is free to make these new movies any way they want to.

As for the movie itself, it'll probably be a CGI mess like their recent CGI heavy movies with some live action. Not my kinda thing, but I'm sure the kids will get a kick out of it.

Anyway, nothing Disney does can correct their racist past. One movie like this won't change things. Who knows, they'll probably make Ariel Asian in order to appease China. Because we all know Disney likes to bend over backwards for China in order for their movies to show there.

From what you typed, this is exactly what I was thinking. Since whites are upset. Black people and virtue signaling whites (and others) will defend the movie and support it in droves.
