I’ve had jobs ask multiple times and had my start date held to verify I graduated.

I've never had a job physically want to see it l, I've always looked at it as sort of a right of passage to say "I accomplished something" in my lifetime I did require all of my children to get theirs though as I was required to get one by my parents.

Can't get into nursing school without it. I haven't been asked to bring a copy of it or anything but they always ask for nursing licensure information and proof of graduation from nursing school and you can't get either of those without a high school diploma.

All my recent hiring have just been from applying for higher level positions or with companies I worked with previously anyway so they had all my info.

None of them verified that I had mine. I do have a high school diploma. I did have to put it on the application.

For many places won't check it. Just hope that a person isn't unlucky and they happen to check it.

Truth is if all they are hiring you based on is a high school education then it's likely a shitty job! Just saying
