The media is always painting digital currency as a high risk activity. Somebody gets rich one week and the next week they are sleeping under the bridge.
The reason Africa doesn't get foreign invest on a large scale is partly due to political turmoil. Investors like a certain level of stability. There are high-risk plays and low risk plays like bonds.

I am still trying to get my friends and fam on Linux but they are so reluctant to leave Windows and Apple. It is like talking to a brick wall with some of them. They don't care enough about their privacy or they give the excuse of "I have nothing to hide" which is not the point.

I started with $350 and invested til I had $1k in bitcoin and I am watching it slowly grow and sure adding to it will help. Just DO NOT invest and spread yourself thin. I bought the plung on Shiba Inu for $150 and got 11 million tokens. That $150 is now worth over 1k and climbing.
I will test $100 this week. If I like it, I will tell you, if I don't like it, I will be honest.
It's about $1500 per month for a full server. You could mine BitCoin 24-7. So with $10,000 you can mine for most of the year.
Over the years, I've tried to put myself in their shoes but it never really works out. Nothing is free. Either you are going to pay by buying a license to use Windows or you are going to "pay" by learning about the machine you control.
That is likely the prime reason. They don't want to learn or they don't feel they have the time for it. I mean really, you don't have to do much learning these days. You can easily google stuff if you are stuck with the use of the terminal but still, I guess that is too much for people. They are missing out!
Start with coinbase, they have a wallet along with their buying platform. Also they give you free crypto if you spend a little time in the "Learn and earn" section. I have a massed $143 in free crypto coins and tokens that some are really starting to bloom. Would you use my coinbase reference link?
I think you cracked the case.
I think a lot of them are just playing stupid or are lazy. They are too set in their ways and would rather be on a computer that does everything for them. I think it is a cultural impact that has altered people's brain waves into being submissive to the machine.
I am going to research it more for sure. If I do go with coinbase, I will let you know and you can DM me the link. I have to wait until work slows down a bit. We are short-staffed at the moment so my free time is limited.
Submissive to the machine lead to the machines declaring war on us in the Matrix, Terminator and iRobot. I know that those are works of fiction but drawing out those possible conclusions in a book or movie lends itself a little credibility.
If AI becomes a thing, we are in trouble cause there are millions out there who would do the machine's bidding. I have a friend who believes there are people who were cloned and are being used to manipulate people. Like they are programed like a computer but they have flesh. It is some real wild ish that I don't subscribe to but given how nutty things have been the last 10 years, I wouldn't completely dismiss things like this anymore.
Im fully digital and its a damn shame. I hate how on streaming media how songs disappear randomly. Digital media is awesome and hugely convenient but I don’t like how it can be taken and changed at will.
