Though there aren't many main playable characters to choose from, there are still a decent number of black characters that were lit AF that added entertaining and suspenseful elements to their respective game.

Here's my top 5 list:

1. Lincoln Clay - Mafia III (PS4/XB1)
2. Carl 'CJ' Johnson - Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas (PS2/XBox)
3. Jax - Mortal Kombat (All Systems)
4. Barrett Wallace - FF7/FF7R (PS1/PS4/PS5/PC)
5. Pierce Washington - Saints Row (All Systems)

Well yeah I'm aware of that, I just wasn't aware of Nadine being played by the chick who also voiced that brute whore Abby. But then, I also haven't played A Thief's End yet either so I wouldn't have known until my playthrough.

I remember when I found out about this, I was gutted. Like I like to feel represented in video games. When I find a mixed girl who is half black, I am all about it but to see a woman whiter than snow voicing her? The fk? She could have been Asian at the very least cause the girl was half... but no, they gave the job to a white woman.

I was appalled.

I felt like I failed Markus.

I always told myself I would play through it again but I was like nah. Nice allegory for Black people though. There's White people playing that game right now talking about they would never stand for that. But then telling Kap not to kneel

I'm a platinum trophy whore, so I'm on like playthrough number 5 trying to unlock pathways I didn't unlock yet and earn trophies I'm still missing. I've done all of the good natured and good hearted playthroughs that I can the first 4 times so now I'm doing my "fcukin asshole" playthroughs.

I thought it was funny how most people at the end of the game they survey the gamer which character they liked the best, Connor, Kara or Markus and most liked Connor and I immediately knew those were the pale-skins.

Connor was a stale ass cardboard cut out of a character. I enjoyed his parts but he was run of the mill anglo. Kara's story was F*d and I really felt that Markus was like my avatar in the game.

Too predictable. I don't remember his story too much but I do think that you could have a typical "liberal" play through with him. I faintly remember him having "white woke" moments in the game. His struggle was being "White" or "White Woke" and a lot of the gamers saw themselves in him and felt guilty for 5 minutes because they called someone a "n1gg3r" on Call of Duty.

Same. I appreciated his arc but the concept of Markus, fighting his way back from almost certain death, rebuilding himself, literally from the "bones" of those who had died before him.(Very new revolutionary-esque) and then take on a leadership role in Jericho....It's so inspiring. Ironic you use the word avatar...before I changed my PSN avatar to Ms. Tilly from RDR2. It was Markus lol.

That's quite hilarious. It's by far the best funny video I have seen online today. My friend here is lost at what's making laugh out loud like silly 😂. I'm definitely watching the video all over again.
