I think Tyler Perry's past is probably pretty clean. If they didn't get Tyler when he bought half of Georgia to build his studios, then they probably don't have anything major on him.

If he buys BET and VH1, I'm convinced that the quality of the programming will be just as subpar as it now, only this time his name and mediocre (and minstrel-like) work will be plastered everywhere in such an annoying manner under the guise of "promoting Black Excellence".

While it is great that Tyler Perry mostly owns and controls his own studios and intellectual property, why does Tyler Perry have to be the only prominent Black power player / mogul in Black Hollywood? Tyler Perry and his crew are not the only Black people out here. I do not like how he monopolized most of today's Black entertainment and film market since the beginning of this 21st century.

Where are the other Black people (with more talent and creativity) who own their own studios like Tyler Perry does? Where is their exposure? Even when Tyler Perry gives Black people jobs and gigs they're often still under and attached to him. It's like how Drake allegedly hired (or tried to hire, like The Weeknd) singers (DVSN, PartyNextDoor, and more) to work in his OVO sweatshop to neutralize competition.

That’s not always a good thing. What if they have two competing ideas for the network? What if Diddy wants to go the revolt route and Tyler wants to turn it into the Tyler Perry Network? It would be better for one person to buy it and make it the best version of whatever their vision is. Sometimes 1 + 1 = 2 but sometimes it it equals .5.

I was just about to write that. SKG is now a global movie studio, Spielberg, Katzenburg and Geffen. They are about as different personalities as you can have but they knew they could be far more successful working together than apart. Each brought their own unique skillset. All Jewish and I say that because it shows how they are on code.

One person who I'd love to see in the bidding and I know he would pool the right people is Ice Cube. Diddy, Tyler Perry and Byron Allen each have way too big of an ego to work as a partner to anyone. They all have 'mogul' mentality.

For me BET being black owned isn't enough. It's what they will do with it is what I want to know.
