Ethnicity differences cam vary from tribal, religion, and other things dependent on where you're from and proximity, but my thoughts are as long as the family of each side is ok with the marriage I can care less.

I couldn't even date outside my race. Alan Armanini from junior high only liked Black girls, but I'm sure his parents didn't know it.

I don't think it's about race. I'm in an interracial marriage myself with a beautiful Hispanic woman.

Other than there being a few learning curves at the beginning like what types of season in the use on food is really not that different than being with anyone else.

I think the bigger issue than race is finding someone who is down with the cause and in the battle just like us. If you can find that then you have something special. And race truly doesn't matter once you have that.

It's so freakin problematic I don't know how folks do it. There is a whole other level of compromising and making of concessions that makes me feel as though I'm giving up my freedom. I equate it to marrying or dating someone with kids and trying to add that into the relationship, blending to make it work. One person always has to give/sacrifice more than the general sacrificing in a relationship that's seems and feels unhealthy to me.

Mixing of races, tribes, cultures has always been problematic, for thousands of years. Folks are acting as if we've some how arrived and grown beyond our struggles when so many of us are desperate to maintain our lineages, blood lines, cultures, etc. White Supremacists promote this sort of mixing for its own good. Other cultures often practice it to become honorary White or accepted by all of them. To each his/her own, but for me...I'm strictly Black.

Btw, my son decided to date and cohabitate out of his race/cultture. It's so problematic I can't even begin to explain. As a parent, just say no to mixing up w/other races. Interracial sexual access is a trap the devil uses to ensnare week minds and weak flesh imo.

Extended family is the first consideration when it comes to inter ethnic relations. Marriages become successful when both families are comfortable with that kind of arrangement that their children should get married. This is important to consider especially when both parents are alive because a single objection to such marriage may become an issue in the future.

I agree. Primary reason why it should be not done and shunned at all cost. Black people need to come up with a codified response making it unacceptable and not palatable the way other groups have about Black folks.

With the White person, there will have to be some compromise in ideals and it’ll probably be with the Black person who compromises.

But I believe the farther away from Blackness you go, the difficulty increases but it’s not insurmountable.

I agree with this, but having been around all sorts of African and Caribbean immigrants in the medical and education fields, if they (most) don't know OUR history, they all import their Black inferiority ideologies which come off in varying degrees as ignorant, arrogant, and downright disrespectful to the culture/race/ethnicity. All of it is rooted in White Supremacy. Grace can be given by those engaging in such interracial connections, but as for me, I'd investigate the culture of anyone outside of my own before connecting in the same way we investigate (or we should investigate) where we are traveling to if we're leaving places we're familiar with to venture into the unknown. A Ghanaian person can be as disrespectful as a racist and ignorant as a White person from buck nelly Georgia, so giving passes to Blacks of any sort is a no-go. The code is very important, and it can't be adhered to without the knowledge of our history and respect for the people the code is rooted in. Problematic is problematic regardless of ethnic composition imo.

But that’s why I said “dating an on code ghanaian” as an off code Black person is as you said, problematic. Because if they are off code with us they are on code with someone else and it’s most likely white supremacy. I believe inter-ethnic marriages can work if they are both on code with Black Empowerment. If not, it won’t work without someone making compromise.

I'm all for it! Inter-ethnic relationships are amazing and they provide a lot of great cross-cultural experiences. The current generation's diversity has been wonderful and I think the future is bright.
