I'm pushing forty, and growing up anything that was older than 1990 at the latest, maybe 1992 as time went on, was considered old school. Now that hip hop is older I might have to change that because of how old it is, but it's really hard to say an album like Get Rich Or Die Trying is "old school".

For me old school is RUN DMC, Furious 5, Slick Rick, BDC. ect. I don't think I'll ever consider anything in the 2000's as old school. A lot of the garbage from the 2000's I don't even consider "Hip Hop". I'm Old school when it comes to Hip Hop maybe even a little bias.

Understandable, I'm the same way. It's crazy because there are some kids that consider Ludacris an old school rapper.

the talent level dropped off a cliff by mid 2000's. I remember old school Wednesdays on BET were my favorite tho (95-97). I had to be home from school by 3:30 or I'd be swoll.
