Recently a friend of mine got mugged by like 5 teenagers with knives and guns, he lost his phone wallet and watch to those sick guys, he was armed but due to being outnumbered he couldn't take them on. thankfully they didn't beat him or anything they just intimidated pointed the weapons and he complied which was a good choice in my opinion and lucky. But I'm just curious what would you guys do to be prepared for situations like these?

Your friend did the right thing. The only thing to do in that situation is to make it out alive. Charge what you lost to the game, and make it home to your family.
You can always replace your belongings, but you can't replace your life.

That's true, I was surprised when I heard he didn't fight because he's always into fighting and Judo but I'm glad that he's alive and unharmed that's what matters in the end.
I was always taught that knowing when to fight is as important as knowing how to fight.
I'm nice with my hands, and I carry everywhere I go. That being said, my guns and my hands don't make me (or whoever's with me) bulletproof.
Even though it will hurt my pride, I'll give up my wallet & live to see another day.

Folks think that nothing can happen to them if they have their hands to fight or guns to shoot. Sometimes it is not a smart thing to fight back. I agree with you fully.

This is one of the reasons why some people try to limit their time in places where many others are. However, I have told people this over and over again that a situation like this can happen at somebody's own home or at a friend's house. A group of people are hiding nearby and waited until the perfect time to strike.

He did the right thing. You survive. First and foremost. Everything that was taken can be replaced except loss of limb or life.
5 people, you don't even consider trying to fight back unless they are determined to kill you. Then you go out fighting. His knowing self defense is pretty much irrelevant when it come to 5 guys with weapons. This isn't the movies.

Yes. I read something somewhere where a person says they carry a throw away wallet with a small amount of money in it and hide their real wallet for this very scenario.
