So I know the inevitable day will come, and my future kids will be at that age where they want to date. At what age are you okay with your kids dating? I personally know once I have kids, I'm not going to be too thrilled about them dating. I figure most kids these days start dating early, but 13-16 maybe. I honestly would say 18, because I know I'm going to be the same way my dad was and not want to see any of my kids dating. Let them do that after they leave my home haha.

But, what is your view on this? My siblings were already dating when they were young. I think my first girlfriend was when I was like 9, but i didn't do actual dating until like 15-16. idk.

Anyway, how do you handle your kids growing up and dating and getting jobs and shit?

I would say it depends on if they are a boy or a girl (yes, I hold different standards!) as well as maturity level. Most 11 to 14-year-olds are not mature enough for a relationship. I would say in most cases for boys and girls, 15 is the sweet spot. They are old enough to understand things but you have to make sure you lay out a foundation for success up until this point or you will end up being a grandmother or grandfather before they even hit 18.

in my house 15 was the age. Even at 15 they couldn't be anywhere alone with their boyfriends /girlfriend, it's why all of my kids were in their mid 20's and later when they had kids. No teen pregnancy in my house!
I think that's fair. I know I wouldn't let my future daughter be around some boy alone. Same if I had a son and he wanted to be alone with his girlfriend. Nah.

For example, my niece is dating some kid and I guess her mother has been letting them hang out alone. I don't get how she can be so comfortable letting her daughter spend so much time with this boy, especially alone. I guess they even asked to go on vacation already. She just turned 16 too.

Yeah 15/16 was the age I started to figure things out for myself. And for sure maturity level comes into factor. Especially since boys tend to be the most immature of the bunch.

You ain't lying. I remember looking around at my options as a 16 year old thinking... This sucks! lol

I felt like I was on par with 20 somethings at the age of 16 so high school dudes did nothing for me. They were loud, annoying, and attention-seeking. Plus most of them were hoes. lol
