I've heard of some messed up catfishing stories that involved parents of all people lying to their children, and pretending to be teen boys or girls interested in them. In this case it sounds like the mother was being an asshole to break them up? That's how it sounds to me.

I don't know the full story either. To me it sounds like a mother who is maybe even jealous of her daughter. Maybe the mom is single and jealous of her daughters relationship to the point she'd try to sabotage it. Crazy people.

You do get stories on mothers hating on their daughters. The Karen in this case may envy her daughter and wishes she could return to her youth.

If the Karen has to serve time, who would be responsible for the daughter's care? If she is a single mother, the consequences could be dire. And yet it did not enter her mind.

I'm betting she was jealous of her daughter having love and was trying anyway she could to destroy it. Or the boy was black and she was trying to push them away due to that. She is willing to do this to her own kid, imagine what she would do to someone else's kid. Like for real, any friends of hers, those parents really need to consider whether or not she abused them.
