We've seen with Kevin Hart about to host the Oscars and we are seeing it now with Cube. 'They' and you know who 'they' are, are bringing up lyrics from his NWA days. Ice Cube has done a whole lot of things in that time, many movies, etc, and not a peep. Not a peep until he is about to do something iconic. Just like Kevin Hart. He apologized numerous times and made many movies since. Not a peep. I will also bring up Nate Parker when he made 'Birth of a Nation', his rape accusation was while in college, he made several movies since, not a peep UNTIL he made an iconic movie, then 'they' sent out black feminists to derail it (with some unforced errors from Parker himself).
We know how they do, we can't control that. What we can control is our support. Black folks in numbers need to ride for those like Ice Cube or others when they come for him in gully ways like that. Social media, pressuring the ones in the public eye to support, all that, full court press.
Historically, there has never been anything blacks in America can't get done when we are all on the same page. Not even all, but enough of us (you won't get all but we don't need all).
Support Ice Cube publicly in social media, etc, that's what we can do.
