I know there are some pro wrestling fans up in here, and wanted to discuss the recent layoffs the WWE has done in the past few months. Just recently a few more wrestlers were let go. Wrestlers let go this time were - John Morrison, Top Dolla, Ashante Adonis, Isaiah Swerve Scott, Tegan Nox, Drake Maverick, Shane Thorne, and Jaxson Ryker. More info on this recent layoffs below.

And earlier this month, they got rid of even more wrestlers:

On top of all of this, the WWE has recorded profits, so I don't quite understand why they've gotten rid of so many wrestlers. Part of me thinks this is not the end of the layoffs either. Do you think this spells trouble for the WWE? Or are they just changing things up going forward?

Honestly, I think Vince McMahon as a leader is running its course, and I think the WWE will have to make a change eventually.

The word on the street is that they're selling the company.
I honestly don't see that happening. Vinny Mack is too in love with his product, he'd rather ship it off to his daughter to run when he's done. But then again, dude is going to work until he dies. He's never going to stop.

I've heard rumors of the WWE wanting to sell for years. It's yet to happen. I would be pretty surprised if they did happen to sell.

Ok that would make sense, cut some of the liabilities to make the company look juicer.
Yeah I suppose that could be a reason. But when they're having some of the best revenue in years, I find it hard to believe they will sell.

I read somewhere, that someone thinks the reason they're laying off so many wrestlers, is because they want to focus on a smaller batch of wrestlers and build them up. But idk if that's true.

It's just weird they'd get rid of some good wrestlers and then push these young unknowns instead. Especially someone like Keith Lee, who I thought was pretty fast for a big dude, and could easily be championship material.

Anyway, idk what to think about these recent layoffs. No word has been said about why they were let go, just saying it was budgetary cuts.

I get where they are coming from here. I can see Vince not wanting stars to break out and then leave the WWE behind. I can only imagine what he feels with John Cena and the Rock peacing out to do Hollywood movies.
