This is a bit random but outside of like 3 spots (one of them being Taco Bell) we don't have taco places around here. The one place isn't a chain or anything. They do some pretty good chicken tacos but the cost went up too much to eat there and justify it. I think this is down to inflation and that hot mess. I feel like unless you are down south, closer to the border, you miss out on authentic tacos. I love them when they are made right but I am not big on the Americanized versions of them.

My only beef (no pun intended) with California Mexican food is they don't mess with ground beef......I had to learn how to make my own ground beef tacos and enchiladas when I moved out here. When I lived in East Oakland (Fruitvale area), that was the spot cuz there were legendary taco trucks within walking distance of the house I was renting. I'd even settle for Taco Bueno at this point.

I am jealous for real. I have a friend who moved down there with her family and she always sends me pictures of tacos and other Mexican meals she gets just to piss me off lol

Here in Michigan they have 2 taco chains... Del Taco & Taco Bell (Toxic Hell). Now they do have a few sit down mexican places to eat and their tacos taste better than the 2 chains do. DO NOT buy from "The Taco Truck" because they have had problems with the health dept.

I love tacos. Unfortunately since we no longer live in the US even part time, there are no authentic taco trucks. We have to make our own.
