Not if you have the original one already and especially if you play docked. I won’t get another Switch until they upgrade the internal components. But knowing Nintendo their next console gonna be something totally different.
Nope. I’d you don’t have a switch then it’s a must buy but if I owned the OG Switch and not the SWITCH Lite I simply couldn’t justify purchasing the OLED.
Because it would fragment the base. Games would be made that only certain switches could play and it would a disaster.
...and be handheld? Not gonna happen. It'll probably be a Series S at the very best. But the most fun I've had gaming this generation has been Breath of the Wild and Xenoblade Chronicles 2, they are so good you don't even see the graphics.
I guess that is a point. I have to keep in mind too that Nintendo focuses on sales for kids more than adults and given the games they focus on not needing 4K, it would make sense to not invest in that yet. Not everyone has 4K either and I doubt kids care about that at all.
Truth. I noticed that with phone upgrades over the years. If you get a better screen that is bigger, your battery life is not going to be good. I think the screens are head of the battery game though. Once batteries get to a point where they can supply and last long, we will have a lot of tech options available to us from longer-lasting smartphones to energy stockpiling.
Do you remember the Sega Nomad? It was a handheld Sega Genesis and the batteries died in 3 hours…you’d basically have to play it plugged into the wall, defeating the purpose. This was also before there were rechargeable batteries in devices so you would have to buy a bunch of AAs and them joints would run out fast. That’s what the Switch would be like with 4K.
Some games require investments. I go for ones where I can pick them up and play them a bit and then get back to doing what needs to be done. It is about balance. I know when I was younger, I couldn't do this. I would get hooked on a game and play it for hours every day. Now that I am older and have more on my plate, I really have to consider what I play. If it isn't extremely enjoyable for me, I can't play it.
Yeah, the prices should drop at the very least and people won't be buying them up. I swear they did that on purpose. Like underproduced the console to make people want it more.
That's been the console business model for generations now. Nintendo & Sony have mastered the practice, and created an entire market for scammers & resellers.
Yeah that is fair to say, just seems a lot worse with Nintendo by comparison. I think some people were still having issues finding them this year whereas you could get the other two easier. But I guess this depends on location and actual shortages. Like I bet they took advantage of everything with COVID and the marketplace having struggles.
Maybe it's regional. It's pretty easy to walk into Best Buy, Gamestop, or Target and buy a Switch.
