A lot of talks about this vaccine mandating messing with truckers. A lot of them are not down with the government telling them what they can and can't do and I don't blame them. I am worried we will see more shortages though, especially if they go on strike. I have already witnessed several in my area. Do you think we will see more before the year is up?

Are you prepared for any shortages? I am considering getting myself one of those filtration systems for water at the very least. I think they are like $230 and filter enough water to last 5 years or something. At least if things really hit the fan, I will at least have water. lol

So I am seeing stories like this one pop up. Seems like we are in for a good few years of this mess which don't surprise me. I mean the 2008 crash took years to fix and I don't think it ever fully recovered. With people not working and shortages in several areas and countries, I can't see it improving for a while.

Really considering getting my green thumb on and learning how to grow my own food now lol

I wonder how hard it would be to organize a local public gardening space where people can come together and learn how to grow and harvest. I think this is something that would benefit a lot of people. I always hear of this being a thing in white neighborhoods. It would make sense for anyone living in the city or neighboring suburbs to have some sort of garden. If things get bad, cities will suffer the most. These spaces are heavily reliant on the conveniences of grocery stores and whatnot.

I am going to look into picking up some gardening books and learning. I want to be able to teach my future kids how to do this as well.

The thing is in the near future people will not be allowed to plant their own food anymore. The excuse will be "it's damaging the planet and causing climate change". It's already starting with the meat industry.

Well if you doing this to prep for the event where supply chains come to a halt then guess what’s going to happen. You will have your communal garden, supply chains come to a halt, and the person with the most guns gonna come through and take the farm. If you do this you have to do it with people you trust.

People was fighting over toilet paper here in Cali, just imagine what is gonna happen when it’s food that’s scarce. The line between Chimpanzee and Homo Sapien will be non-existent.

Of course, the way things are going right now, we're going to be back to square one, with a lockdown looming and possible more problems. I hated when people went mad and started buying everything up. It's not the end of the world. Yeah it's a shit show out there, but if we play it safe and do our part, things will go fine.

I doubt most truckers are unvaccinated. I'm sure some are, but I can't see all truckers thinking the vaccine is bad or something. And if some truckers do decide to strike because they are forced to get the vaccine, well I can see these companies also finding other workers who will do the job and also get the vaccine. It'll slow things down at first, but it should be back to moving in due time.

That's a great idea and would definitely help a lot of people, but I've never heard of a community garden in a white neighborhood. I only have heard of black people making them in places like Brooklyn and Detroit to not be dependent on white and asian grocers. Think it was the Panthers that did it first. Giuliani and other politicians in NYC have tried to destroy community food gardens for obvious reasons.

Theyve been running with that lie for awhile. National parks in the USA and "conservancies" in Africa are turning into desert because of policies saying certain people arent allowed to grow food or keep livestock for the sake of the environment. In reality the opposite is true: From Soil To Society: A Systems Approach To Change| Countercurrents

Yes, in cities this is the case but white suburbs have them. I have seen them. Once you get further out though (away from the city), it is just huge farmlands run by a family or small group with no community access.

This is true and something I have had worries about. They already are trying to make the generation growing up now a generation of renters, not land owners. It is a scary thought. They control the food supply this much, they will control everything.

This is something that I have thought of. I watched plenty of zombie movies, shows, etc. to see how people act. You are 100% right. People will become like animals again.

All this civility will go right out the window. Folks will grab their guns. Those zombie movies are predictive programming.

Absolutely. Some love the country area so they can have a nice number of acres to themselves, but they love being close to the city so they can drive within an hour's drive to go as needed. It is the best of both worlds.

I definitely don't hear too many of them talking about that. I hate we allowed these other groups of folks to dominate the grocery stores.

Honestly I hope they don't do something this stupid. With the government continuously giving mixed messaging people aren't going to want to be vaccinated.
They say the pandemic is over. They lift mask mandates. It wouldn't make sense to do this and then companies or the government mandate getting a vaccine.

With inflation it is getting to a point of being out of control.

From a personal standpoint I feel like the vaccines are safe. Have there been a few people having adverse reactions to them. Sure but the number is very small. We have a small insignificant number of people who have reactions to every vaccine. Those reactions range from minor to fatal. The number that have fatal reactions is extremely small.

But if we are saying the pandemic is over and we know for certain the vaccine doesn't absolutely keep you from catching COVID then whether or not you take that risk no matter how small should be a personal decision.

I only ever felt like it shouldn't be a personal decision when people were getting COVID to an extent that it was consuming all the hospital beds. At that point it wasn't about COVID. Regular life would carry on. All the illnesses and injuries that people normally get they were still getting them. They were actually happening to a greater extent because people were unable to see the primary care physician at the beginning of the pandemic. Thus they were getting sicker and sicker and having their medical situation deteriorate. If someone had a heart attack, a stroke, a car accident, a diabetic emergency, or a childbirth complication they wouldn't be able to be admitted to a bed for care because there are no beds. They'd be all taken up by COVID patients. We would then have people dying from normal emergency situations that they would have otherwise survived because they either couldn't get care or had to be transported hours away for the care and die enroute.

That's what we were dealing with as nurses and doctors. We were having people dying not just from COVID but from other things too. If we get to that point then yes get your damn vaccine. I can't go through the trauma of people dying like that, patients inconsolable and in tears because they lost multiple loved ones. I don't think I can explain how traumatizing that is to have to deal with constantly.

So I'm split on vaccine mandates. It depends on what hospitalization and death rates are. As they are now I don't feel it is needed.
If things go even close to what they were before then yes by all means whatever is necessary to control it I am all for it.

I suspect there is some kind of sinister agenda going on with the powers that be.
