This was a good conversation. I see Aunt Hattie in pretty much everybody on the panel, but it was good to see people who could pass loudly proclaiming their Blackness.

Also, S/O to Rock Newman. He's always been a stand up, stomp down pro-Black celebrity; and he has done a lot of good work here in the DMV.

NYC IS THE FIRST CITY IN THE U.S. TO OPEN SUPERVISED DRUG INJECTION SITE, IN HOPES OF PREVENTING OVERDOES​

People dying from drug overdoses are growing at an alarming rate, especially in New York City.
There’s been a dramatic increase since the pandemic in 2020. As reported on NBC last year, over 2,000 individuals died from an overdose. It hasn’t been that high since 2000.To help combat the issue, New York is the first state to launch supervised drug injection sites in NYC.
The city launched a “harm reduction” strategy designed to “reduce an unprecedented surge of overdose deaths,” NPR reports. Mayor Bill de Blasio backs the program and made the announcement today (November 30). He said,
“Overdose Prevention Centers are a safe and effective way to address the opioid crisis. I’m proud to show cities in this country that after decades of failure, a smarter approach is possible.”
The overdose prevention center (OPC) services are safe places where people who use drugs can get clean needles and medical care. They also offer addiction treatment, and individuals can get connected to social services. The OPCs will serve as an extension of existing services.

I’m not a fan of Fat Joe or Fetty but I must say this was an engaging interview. Discussion points:
- Fetty had 10 mill in album sales but still went broke due to bad contracts and managers
- Fetty discusses the night of his 4 year old daughters death
- Recent RICO indictment
-Depression (he went from being in the hot spot with Drake to nothing, no features
- mental health concerns: talks about being in a real dark space when the fame and money is no longer there along with the people he lost. How he feels like he has to front and put on a facade to fight his inner demons
-Lost his eyesight as a child (reason for eye condition)
- having to pay for his own tours, marketing out of his pocket despite being a double platinum artist

Really sad interview but gems were dropped. Basically Fetty Wap seems a lot more humble and personable. Personally, I think if Fetty would have been more in touch with himself like he is in this interview - he wouldn’t be seen as a one hit wonder gimmicky type rapper. Because clearly he is very articulate and thoughtful.

This team can't catch a break. They finally get him back to trend in the right direction and this happens. If he's out as long as Embiid was this doesn't look good.

Maybe it's via a phone scam, or any scam. Has there ever been a time where you got scammed? Or maybe you know someone who was scammed? My mom was scammed years ago after talking to a phone scammer. Thankfully all they got was $30, but she was about to send them more on another call. I have almost been scammed a few times by suspicious emails. I got a few from Amazon a while back that I thought was legit, but right after I clicked the link, I realized I was going to the wrong site, and immediately closed the tab.

My aunt and uncle recently announced they were getting a divorce this Thanksgiving weekend and it made me think a lot. These two were once inseparable with one another. I noticed each time they interacted that there was true love there. But after 15 years of marriage, they're calling it quits and are moving into different directions.

Is it destined that eventually people just fall apart from one another? Lose interest in one another? Fall out of love? I love my girlfriend right now, but I fear that one day she will look at me, and will peace out. I always have heard from others that humans are meant to not stick with one partner, and I don't agree with that. But I don't know what 10-20 years from now how we'll be together. Will we still be in love, or will we be losing interest in each other?

Looks like we'll have another option to fight covid, and it'll be in pill form. This has been in the news for a while, but advisers from the FDA have endorsed the new covid medication. People will be able to get prescriptions for this medication soon I imagine.

I've only really dealt with jealousy from friends when I was younger. For some reason, my best friend's parents would compare us and use me against her if I ever did anything better than her. It killed our relationship because she'd try to make everything we did a competition. We eventually had a big falling out and I haven't spoken to her since but I really hope her parents stopped doing that. So yeah, has jealousy ever ruined a friendship of yours?
