RadioShack Announces Ambitious New Cryptocurrency Exchange​

RadioShack.com is now showing visitors a new message: "Bringing cryptocurrency to the mainstream..."

With a 100-year-old brand, "we are going to lead the way for blockchain tech to reach mainstream adoption by other large brands."

The RadioShack home page says they'll start with a "symbiosis" with Atlas USV, a community-driven project to build a universal, decentralized/widely accessible DeFi base layer. Atlas USV's "Barter" mechanism lets users purchase third-party tokens and transfer them to Atlas USV's treasury in return for discounted USV tokens. "The Atlas USV treasury can accumulate any crypto asset of its choice with this dynamic...

"Once the liquidity pool surpasses other exchanges' liquidity level in any token pair, our swap efficiency will be unbeatable for that pair...

"Other decentralized exchanges margins on swap fees are our opportunity.... "

Or, as they explain on a more detailed web page, "We intend RadioShack to be the first protocol to pass over into mainstream usage in the history of DeFI," promising that RadioShack DeFi "will become the first to market with a 100 year old brand name that's recognized in virtually all 190+ countries in the world..."

"RadioShack has one objective: Distribution and usage by millions of individuals but possibly more important, by hundreds of blue-chip, large corporations as their gateway into becoming blockchain companies."

Currently there's a sign-up form for a notification when "RADIO token" launches (as well as links to their channels on Discord and Telegram).

Their "Fundamentals" page explains that "It is our hypothesis that the best way for crypto to be more mainstream is for an established brand name in the tech space to lead the way."

The RadioShack brand was purchased In November of 2020 by e-commerce rehabilitator REV, now listed as a collaborator on RadioShack's home page. (Ironically, the "Fundamentals" page also includes RadioShack's Super Bowl ad where there store is taken back by the 1980s.)

The official Twitter feed of Radio Shack now also has the same new tagline: "Bringing Cryptocurrency To The Mainstream."

I'm from Portland, Oregon a lot of my family on my mother's side have been here for a very long time. My Dad's side of the family is from Los Angeles with very deep roots there as well. We have a long connection to Portland and in the book "A Peculiar Paradise" it features my great great great grandfather , he owned a few shops in downtown Portland, we even have a park named after my cousin,here in Portland.

I have a friend who said that Blacks couldnt get ahead in the civil rights era because they wasnt educated. Education is taught by institutions. That institution created cirricullums and "learning" material. Our people are naturally educated, although we should strive to learn daily. In some ways "outside" education is very important.But I dont think it was more important than keeping our traditions and costumes. People still throw that word around. I remember they said Lawrence Taylor was illiterate and couldnt read.They blasted this on the media when he was in the NFL. Regardless of his on field skills. But he was able to do this?

The election pissed me off so much, shit looked like a literal Boondocks episode...I swear they were spot on on so many things. Only The Simpsons and South Park are ahead of them prophetically.

What teams do you think have a shot at getting to the NBA finals and winning them? Earlier on, I would have said the Lakers, but I'm not so sure about that anymore. The Warriors are killing it right now, and I could easily see them winning this year. The Suns as well as they're literally tied with the Warriors right now. The Western conference is doing good this year, the Jazz are 20-8.

The Eastern conference isn't doing too bad either. The Nets are doing their thing as well. My Bulls are in second, at 17-10, so I can't complain. Would love to see them get to the finals this year the most. I don't know if they will, but I'd love to see it happen again.

What teams do you think will make it to the finals, and what teams do you want to make it?

With the rise of the omnicron variant and the fact that many of these leagues are having an unprecedented spread of the virus or exposure to it, do you think they'll attempt another lockdown(key word: attempt)? I expect many other countries to lock down traveling.

I said this when it first blew up. The Chinese government is using it to not only make millions off data farming but to allow people to spread their degeneracy around and influence kids to think, say, and do some really stupid and immoral ish. Every time I see a new "trend" I throw up in my mouth a little. So many kids, teens, and even young adults partake in this crap and it isn't even funny, it is just sad.

I feel like, at this point, the app is a weapon used against the youth in other countries, especially America. Seeing the kind of madness that goes viral on there is disturbing. There are loads of white girls making up genders and pronouns, people thinking they are animals, kids taking up stupid trends and committing crimes for views... WTF has the world become?

I feel like this kind of degeneracy was always out there but thanks to platforms like this, it is spreading like wildfire. People still worrying over covid when the mental state of the US is a bigger issue.

Did you hear about this recently? I guess today December 17th, 2021, there was supposed to be a TikTok challenge where kids were tasked to bring weapons to their school. Tik Tok's stupidity just continues to go down hill. There has been other odd challenges set up on TikTok, but this is clearly the worst of the worst.

Schools all over the US were cancelled due to this, and some parents just kept their kids at home.

You all done your Christmas shopping? Do you go all out with the gifts you give? I usually get a gift for each of my close family. I'll sometimes gift a friend with something, but it's rare that I bother with that. It's mostly family that I give gifts to.

I try not to get expensive gifts. I usually get my siblings a t-shirt and other clothes. Everyone needs some new clothes, so they are happy with that. If I could afford more, I'd get them more than just clothes.

What's the most expensive gift you've given someone? For me, it was a gaming chair around $200 that I got for my younger brother.

Mental health has been a trouble for me much of my life, from childhood up to adulthood. I've had my share with depression and anxiety. Do you feel you have your mental health in check? As in, are you mentally good and healthy? I'd say for the most part I'm pretty good in terms of mental health. I have thought about going to therapy for some things, but I feel it's not needed right now. I'm in a pretty good place.

But, have you struggled with your mental health? It's a day to day thing though. Some days I'm great, and then other days I just feel bleh. idk, maybe I am bipolar in some ways.

I am only in the beginning stages of a relationship so I am not sure if I will get him something or not.

I will say in past relationships that were fully established, I would spend $100. I think that is a nice number that can get a good gift or two. I don't like to go overboard. I feel like if you are going to spend more on your significant other it should be for their birthday or your anniversary.
