Loaning money to friends

Oh damn dude, who here has loaned money to a friend in need? I have only done it once and I regretted it. He of course is one of my childhood friends, but we've kinda lost touch in recent years. But, he can contact me whenever he needs a handout. And honestly I helped him with the understanding that he'd pay me back. But he took forever to pay me. I wasn't even asking for payments, just a little here and and a little there. The dude has the gall to then ask me months later if I could foot the bill for one of our meals when we hung out. And in fact, I asked the dude right there if he had any money to pay back.

I only intend to loan money to my mom and that's it, no one else is getting my help from here on out. Friends may mean well, but don't let em take advantage of you either.

Syracuse, N.Y. – New York may recruit medical workers from the Philippines, other countries and states to replace unvaccinated staff at hospitals and nursing homes who face being fired if they don’t get Covid-19 vaccine shots by Monday.

Gov. Kathy Hochul said today that’s one strategy her administration may pursue if New York sees a significant exodus of health care workers as a result of the Covid-19 vaccination mandate.

nder the mandate, health care workers must get at least one dose of the vaccine by Monday. If they don’t, the state won’t let them do their jobs, and hospitals and nursing homes can fire them.

State data shows 17% of nursing home and 16% of hospital workers remain unvaccinated.

The most hated brands in the world according to digg

Corporations spend millions of dollars on public relations every year to ensure their brands are held in high esteem.

Some companies, like Patagonia, have managed to earn a favorable reputation with the public for things like their commitment to environmental stewardship. But other brands — like Uber, which has been constantly plagued by scandals — leave a bad taste in people's mouths.

So which are the most despised brands in the world? Consumer publication RAVE Reviews put together a compendium of the world's 100 largest brands and then used the research tool SentiStrength to evaluate over a million brand-related tweets and rank the negative sentiment towards these brands in each country.

Their research team discovered Sony was reviled the most in 10 countries, Tesla was a close second, as the company was hated the most in seven countries and Uber was the most disliked brand in four countries, including the United States

What's the most hated brand in your state? Mine is Uber.

Do compliments depend on looks?

Did you ever notice how compliments are taken differently depending on how the person looks? What I mean by this is that a very attractive, well-dressed man can give any woman a compliment and it will always be taken well whereas coming from someone who is not very attractive, not dressed well will be viewed as creepy or offputting. I think it is different for men in that any woman can pay them a compliment and the majority take it very well. I have been thinking about this and I am trying to figure out why these reactions are vastly different. People like to say it is men who take looks more seriously but I honestly think women do. Am I wrong?

The Church & the State Have the Same Problem

The more I sit back and just watch things happen and watch what people do, the more I see stuff like this.

What I mean by the title and the above is that the church and the state have the same problem where there are people involved that aren't out to make a better community or uplift others, they are in it for themselves. A lot of church pastors and politicians do what they do because they want to become rich. They do the bare minimum when it comes to church duties or public duties and when it comes to the bigger decisions, they go with whatever is best for their wallets. The shame of it is, these people are often viewed as "good people" by the general public and the ones who actually are out there doing good will get criticized.

I kind of laugh when I hear the "separation of church and state" because there are snakes in both who do the same damn thing as each other.

Don't get me wrong, there are good politicians and good church leaders, but they are few and far in between these days.

How do you handle annoying coworkers?

I don't have any coworkers that are too bad right now, but I've had some pretty bad ones in the past. It was mostly just our personalities clashing, and it made for a lot of tension in close quarters. I've also had a few that were just really nosey and wanted to talk about personal matters. I always try to remain professional without coming across as rude, but I'm usually screaming in my head lol So, how do you handle them?

Do you guys like the Raycon earbuds?

Dude, these earbuds are advertised in every YouTube channel out there it seems. It actually pushed me to buy a pair a few months back. And honestly I'm not sure these are that great. Don't get me wrong, they have some decent base, and sound okay, but for $80+ I don't see it being worth that much money to be honest.

Does anyone here own a pair of Raycons? I feel they're a bit overrated because of how many people advertise them. I got a pair of wired earbuds that were not even name brand and they sound better than the raycons. But, I will admit the earbuds feel great in the ear and the case is cool. But that's all it's got going for me.

Have you guys purchased these earbuds? While I'm here, what other wireless earbuds are superior to the Raycons? I'm thinking of getting the ones from Samsung, but idk if I want to pay that much.

Companies that change their social pages for black history/pride months

You know how all these companies change their social profiles around during certain months, like black history month, or pride month (LGBT History Month), etc. They always change things around for just that month. To me, all it looks like is a company trying to look good. They rarely do anything to help and in the end, it just makes them look like a more respectful company. But, once that month ends, they're back to normal, doing their usual thing.

Of course these companies don't care about black history month or pride month, or any month about special causes. I just find it weird when they come out in support, but then change back to their old ways right after the month ends.

What do you think about this? Do these companies just do it to look good? Or, do you think they're really out there trying to help?

This is the US FDA Economist saying this. You can read the entire thing in the full context by going to the link. These are the people we are meant to trust with our health and safety? I don't care if this was one guy or 10 guys saying it, WTF!?

Do you take any vitamins?

I started paying more attention to my health when I became a nurse. I somewhat got obsessed with it as I see a lot of unhealthy people on a weekly basis. It scares me a bit. One thing I try to do is ensure my body gets what it needs. I don’t eat the best but I am improving my diet as I go. I like to use vitamins to make sure nothing is missing though. I focus on Vitamin C and Vitamin D3 right now.

Do you take any vitamins? If you do, what are you taking? What are some good brands you’d recommend?

How hard do you think it is to become a successful “gamer”?

A friend of mine has a brother, he is 19 years old. He is trying to get big on YouTube and Twitch by way of gaming. He has a decent following but nothing that could sustain him as a career. He still has to work full-time. I have never looked into this all that much. I only enjoy a handful of games myself these days so it isn’t something I could do. I am all for people finding happiness in their career but I feel like this is not something you should aspire for because the reality is that this is a very luck-based market. I think he should focus more on an attainable goal and keep this as a hobby.

Oscar De La Hoya Calls Out Floyd Mayweather For $100 Million Fight!

70DB25BB-CB4A-4DE3-86F8-FFC9276DCDF7.jpeg Oscar De La Hoya is gunning for a fight with one of the greatest boxers of all-time, Floyd Mayweather, telling TMZ Sports he's got $100 MILLION for Money if he accepts.

And, he wants to fight this year.

We got 48-year-old De La Hoya leaving Rossoblu in L.A. with girlfriend Holly Sonders ... and we asked the boxing legend how he felt after being hospitalized with COVID.

"5 days of hell" is how ODLH described the virus ... but what he really wanted to talk about was returning to the ring.

"You know who I'm gonna call out for my next fight? Floyd Mayweather."

And, that's when Oscar threw out the crazy lucrative proposal, saying ... "I'll offer Floyd Mayweather $100 million."

Bipartisan police reform negotiations over without deal

Lead negotiators for Democrats, Booker and Rep. Karen Bass, D-Calif., made that final offer during a meeting Tuesday. Democrats said it was "the bare minimum of what they could accept at this point," a source told ABC News.

Booker told reporters at the Capitol later Wednesday that despite "significant strides" made in negotiations, the groups could not come to an agreement and indicated that he will revisit other paths to achieve police reforms.

This whole “anybody but Trump” thing ain’t really working out too well.
