Politics aren't my strong suit, but in another life I would have liked to think I would be capable enough to run for office. Probably not president, but I would for sure try to be something at a lower level.

But, I'm by no means that political. I have my opinions and thoughts like anyone else, but you wouldn't catch me trying to change things. I am not very good when it comes to public speaking or anything to do with interactions with people I don't know haha. So there's also that.

But, if you had the ability to run for any form of office right now, what would you run for?

It would require me to resign from my current job pretty much.
My understanding is that government employees aren't allowed to run for a partisan political office.

Since I do fairly well I don't think I'd be willing to quit my job in order to pursue politics!

I wouldn't be able to do it because of the stress and lying. All of them lie but some are more honest than others. I wouldn't be able to not tell people the truth if I had the means to do so, I would likely be assassinated lol

We complain about those in politics and when asked if we would like to run for office, we would still decline. What's really the problem? I know politics isn't a kids playing field but if I have the opportunity to effect the change we are all asking for, I'm going to do my best to see it done.

Personally, I wish I had the patient to run for office. I'll just stay in my lane, as becoming a politician is something Im not built for (Im impatient and have a bad temper). However, I am involved with a volunteer organisation that works to inform policy to make people's lives easier. As you have alluded to, we have made our complaints known, what do we do about it? We all can do something in our own way, it doesnt necessarily have to be as big as running for office. It would be great if we could get more involved in politics on some level.

Yeah I'd probably do the same. If I found an candidate that I could really see making a change, I would try to put in as much support as I could.

I don't even know how much most politicians make. I usually get answers that say they get paid decently, and others have said it doesn't pay well at all. So I can see it paying less than a lot of jobs.

I guess some of us have to effect the change in another way. Going out there and fighting for causes you believe in, supporting politicians you can get behind, etc. I wish I could perform change myself, but I wouldn't have the ability to do what politicians do. So instead, maybe I'll help in other ways.

No chance I'd run for politics. I would get way too pissed off from having to deal with people all day. As much as politicians suck, I gotta give them props for having to deal with the amount of people they have to work with. I can't imagine the good ones have an easy time.

For me, getting into politics sounds like a death sentence. At least when it comes to running for any form of office. Being political is one thing, because I will do what I can to support the cause I want to help. But actually running for office sounds awful to me. No way would I put myself through something like that.

I don't think I could handle anything in politics. I would go out there with my friends and family to protest for certain causes, and I would also support politicians I believe could do something, but there's not a chance I would ever run in politics. I'm not someone who likes to be in the public eye, being famous does not suit me. I'm also not someone who can talk in front of a camera. I freeze up on camera.

Even if you're making a decision you think to be right, others will find a way to hate it. Yeah you will always have people hating you, your family, and anyone you associate with no matter what you do and this doesn't just go away.

Sounds like way more trouble than I need. Being in politics has to be a 24/7 thing at times, I can barely handle the work I have now. I also don't think I'm capable to decide on serious things. Plus, I don't want to be stuck with a bunch of white men and women who are already running things. I'll just be doing their work probably. No thanks!

If the system was different, I'd maybe consider it, but right now, the way it is, nah!
