I'm sure the teachings of Holocaust, LGBT history and more are also still allowed to be taught too.

If they were forced to teach either LGBT history or Black history in schools, they'll immediately drop the faux moral panic and happily embrace having thousands of sexually explicit LGBT books and lewd, registered sex offender drag queens in their children's schools over having Black history in schools and Black people getting reparations.

Gee, I thought they only wanted to ban Critical Race Theory (CRT) because last time I checked, African American Studies and Critical Race Theory are not actually the same thing.

And African American Studies existed long before CRT ever did.
So why did they ban African American Studies when it's not CRT?

That alone shows you that the real agenda is to erase all of Black history and outlaw it from being taught anywhere in the country for extremely obvious reasons.

"CRT" is being used as a politicial scapegoat to mobilize anti-Black racists and the panic surrounding it is just a dogwhistle for those in power to erase Black history, Black culture, and ultimately Black people as a whole.

This is why they made our ability to read illegal. Once we have the knowledge strategy and history to influence our current actions we become a threat. This proves knowledge is power. Also notice they are attacking high schoolers. The younger one is when they realize white folks are as a whole full of shit the more of a threat that generation becomes. We have to continue to empower and indoctrinate our own so they have the proper defense against this cruel system.

If Ron DeSantis was a Democrat or a Black politician, then this story would've been in several threads on here. Meanwhile, the evil Republicrackas are actually passing anti-Black legislation...and crickets.
My junior high school stopped Black studies on my first day, with no explanation.

It's a smart move as they do not want the sons and daughters of the migrants they are importing to empathize with the negro struggle. The erasure is in overdrive.

That's also part of why you rarely see Roots on TV like that anymore and why they only want people to "move on" from Black issues and focus on "real issues" like climate change, the war in Ukraine, abortion, women's rights, the status quo of healthcare, xenophobia, immigration, making illegal aliens legal citizens, Asian Hate, anti-Semitism, white rural and suburban grievances, Tribal / Native / indigenous people, LGBTQIA+ rights, the middle class, economic anxiety, Trump and Republicans threatening democracy, and other non-Black issues.

I got called to task at my last high school for having too many Black people on my classroom wall. My principal codified it tho by saying " your wall reflects where you come from. It would be more inclusive to have your students do a project illustrating where they come from and displaying it in your classroom." Meanwhile, down the hall in the Spanish wing, they got El Chapo, and Cesar Chavez and Frida and every latino imaginable in the school hallway. I did what I had to do to get through the evaluation. The next day I gave my notice and told them I was not going to be back for the winter and spring semesters due to "mental health" issues. PHUK EM. I was making just as much money as a substitute teacher with way more free time.

Yeah, I think that’s it more than anything. Otherwise, since they come with prejudices against Black Americans, why not make it a point to challenge their beliefs and let them know that they’re not cool and won’t be tolerated? That would be true education and a win for us too.

On the other hand, comsidering the anti-Black bias, I don’t want them teaching our history, especially not to our children.

Again, we need to be getting together and teaching our own history to our children on Saturdays.

During Jim Crow and even afterwards, the Jack and Jill group would meet on the weekends and have a professional Black talk to their children about their profession, etc. to give them a heads up. They taught their kids what they needed to know; and they were and are still the most consistently successful group of Black Americans out here. We need to do the same regarding career training AND our history.

Because they want those people to maintain their biases so that they are compliant in the destruction of Black civilization.

In discussions for some time I've said Desantis is a straight up, no filter, white supremacist. He's a true believer.

That won't change. This is one of those times not enough black folks, especially Florida based ones, wants to fight. As a collective we do the 'see how they doing us thing', hoping white liberals feel enough pity to do something on our behalf.

We let things happen. By that I mean we rarely come back with the same or more energy. When we do, sh*t gets done. We came back with the same energy to save Kyrie. The NBA and others saw the number of Black men online, everywhere supporting him and the black NBA players so that and took that as a sign that they had our full support.

The same for a number of murders: Floyd, Arbury, others. It produced results, when it otherwise wouldn't.

Gen Z white folks are the most black supportive white generation ever. Yeah, we don't feel they are enough but factually they are. White racists blame 50 years of black history month and sympathetic black history in schools from 1st grade on. Their favorite form of music is black music. Their icons are black (Tupac, Oprah, Kobe, Jordan), they grew up with a black president, that optic seeing a black man and black family as the most powerful man in the world can't be overstated enough.

So their plan is to remove even telling young white kids about anything that has happened to blacks so its easier to become racist like them later in life. 99.99 percent of blacks have never heard of Critical Race Theory. it was taught in maybe 5 or 6 unis as an elective course. Never in any High Schools. So, racists saw it as an opportunity and co-opted the term to call any talk of black history, including MLK Jr now as CRT. That's the plan. White liberals know this is the plan but you won't hear it on TYT, CNN or MSNBC. And worse yet, you won't hear it from Joy Reid, the Congressional Black Congress or even black voices with a platform in Florida.

These constant, 24-7 battles against is all kinds of ways will never stop. Being anti Black is a religion and they are zealots and many are willing to be martyrs for it. We won't acknowledge this as a group and we don't fight it as a group.

We don't until its almost too late. That's usually the only time we fight things as a collective. It's tiring and emotionally draining to constantly fight against this stuff. And if you do, you will not might, will end up getting criticism and pettiness from the very same Black people you are fighting for. Ask any true to life activist, politician, online influencer...and yes, black forum creators (000000).

The sad thing is that's the norm.

His opponents didn't support reparations and AP courses aren't gonna get us a black agenda!

    Or something like that.

I saw tariq with Desantis in a thumbnail, and I thought this is what niggas like him want so I hope he not bitching in the video.

It didn't start with DeSantis, they've been removing Black studies, since I was a child.
Eliminating us by any means necessary, gives them the green light to take our history as their own.
They know who the real Supreme beings are & they know it's NOT them!

Let's keep it one buck. The vast majority kids in school are being raised by single black women who are working hard and don't really have time to get involved with their local school districts like that.

They leave it up to the schools to educate them and be a de facto baby sitter. They don't have the back ground to know what their kid should be taught and don't have the time and energy to know what is being taught.

The school could be introducing a new book that shows alternate lifestyles and they wouldn't know what is going on. That's how things are.

The only time these moms hear from the school is when their kid is cutting up in class or whatever.

Lastly, and this is the worst part, these moms will accept a white teacher saying little man man is acting up but won't from a black female teacher saying it with more respect even. My cousin is a middle school teacher. Looks out for the black kids because the white teachers, especially white women will suspend a black kid in a heart beat or recommend them for remedial classes or slow learners quick.

She hates teacher/parent meetings with black moms. She gets cussed out for any suggestion for improvement. Half those sistas will cuss out anyone, black or white for criticisms and the other half only cuss out the black teachers.

The few black couples are great. The pops don't play no mess usually. And they discuss strategies for their kids success. But she only has 1 or 2 of them at most. She gets some dads who are involved in their kids life but don't live with them as well.

But by and large the single moms, even the good ones, don't have the time (or energy) to be involved in things like removal of black centric things in school.

Finally, I am no way trying to blame single black moms. I feel for y'all big time. But that's the state we are in.

I agree with him not wanting that intersectional, LGBT agenda in the curriculum. Some of the heat needs to be on DeSantis but also some on the college board who keeps injecting immigration, LGBT, and Intersectionality into every conversation that deals with Black Americans.

I don't know about California, but out here, they are teaching junior high school health students about various forms of sexuality. Kids would already have an understanding of the subject by the time they took the course that De Santis banned.
There are 4 units to the program and only a few subjects from the 4th unit covers the topic of Black feminism and Intersectionality and how those subjects cross. It doesn't have anything to do with what DeSantis and his klan are fearmongering about. Here's the proposed curriculum: dWkrIcy.jpg A blip in the tail end of the program isn't enough to warrant canceling the entire course. Besides, although I don't condone the lgbt agenda; the mention of the words "Black", "gay", and "Intersectionality" in the same sentence still aren't enough to make me get in step with an avowed white supremacist.

I’m not lock step with him at all that’s why I said both need smoke. The intersectionality babble leads to Black and Brown coalitions, feminism, and then leads us right into LGBTQIA+.

We saw first hand how intersectionality was used to co-opt Black America’s anger through the LGBT BLM organization. So while I don’t agree with his rejection, I don’t think the curriculum is benign either.

Even if that's true, and we'll say for the sake of argument that it is, the inclusion of a short discussion on Intersectionality is still not a valid reason to ban the Black studies course. DeSantis is using the lgbt boogie man as a smokescreen to advance his WS agenda.

But I‘m not defending DeSantis. Both sides are wrong in my eyes. DeSantis is wrong for banning African American studies for some very flimsy and other very real reasons. The college board is wrong for shoehorning LGBT and Intersectional babble in curriculum about Black Americans. I see two villains not one.

None of that is my argument.
My point is whether there are two villains or two hundred, the Black studies course should not have been banned.

Cool, that’s what you believe. I believe that there are some valid critiques of the curriculum which gives DeSantis the ammo he needs to block it. Some of the curriculum being critiqued has nothing to do with the Black community specifically and are liberal ideologies used to destroy our unity and family structure. Liberals shouldn’t expect people to keep buying their non-stop sex talk. Them trying to piggy back it off our name is ONE of the bullet points in the rejection and to me that’s unfortunate. They should make Queer Studies and put all that talk in that course.

So then here's the solution: unban the course, and then remove the undesirable sections through revision. All of the lgbt stuff could be gone by the second year the class is offered. I don't care about the perverted liberals or the closeted conservatives; my only concern is that the Black studies class is offered.

Well like Sovereign posted, it’s being revised. Once they take the liberal sex talk out of it then DeSantis will have a hard time challenging without looking like an outright white supremacist.

He wouldn’t but he would have to own it if he still has an issue after the Queer Theory subject is removed.

You’re arguing just to argue. I mean own it in that right now he is using the LGBT issue as the problem. If they remove it and resubmit it he will either have to accept it or admit that the LGBT issue was not the premier issue and that he simply wants no talk about Black people in the state. Him having to be clear about his stance makes it great to cite down the line in case he pretends to be something other than what he is.

I'm actually not; but just out of curiosity, when has DeSantis pretended to he anything other than a white supremacist? He has never proclaimed to be anything other than that.

Desantis is a racist. That's a given. But something that has to be addressed within the Black community is that the Blacks that teach our history wouldn't be approved by TBA, Tariq, Dr. Boyce or whomever we wish.

The fact is the people that teach it are mostly for The Root, Blavity, Lip Stick Alley. They are hardcore democrats who would be against Marcel. Those are the ones generally teaching our history.

The fact is the people that teach it are mostly for The Root, Blavity, Lip Stick Alley. They are hardcore democrats who would be against Marcel. Those are the ones generally teaching our history.
The only part they mostly teach is slavery. What about before?

Whites only want sanitized black history. We were 'workers' from Africa as Texas tried to approve a text book. And only black people begging and saved by white daddy.
White folks are pissed their youngest generation is the most liberal. The youngest whites are growing up with blacks as their icons and heroes (Jay Z, LeBron, Kobe, MJ..all 3 of them. etc) and their low numbers got them triggered badly. So, they are out to make sure the newest white generation has no sympathy for Blacks and no black heroes. So, they grow up now with white men/black women. Black men on the media are soft.
Its up to us individually to fight it but the vast majority of us aren't for whatever reasons.

Why aren't Black education groups in Florida removing the rainbow stuff so it can be taught? We know why.
There is a line that we shouldn't cross in removing things. Desantis will look for any obscure reason. Force him to remove it for the RIGHT reasons. The truth. The other rainbow stuff shouldn't be in it anyway, that's some agenda stuff.
