I don't feel like people fully understand the cost of owning an electric car or the strain it can put on the power grid if more people started driving them. Right now, they are telling people in Cali to stop using charging stations for their cars. The prices of electric cars (used or new) are going up as well since more people are gaining interest. The cost will be similar in terms of energy but if shit breaks in one of those cars, most people won't be able to afford the repair.

I am looking at getting a hybrid. I feel like that is the safest middle ground right now.

How does that handle? My brother has been looking at getting one. Not sure what year he is looking but I know they are used. I had a jeep as my first car and loved it.

I don't see myself using an Electric car any time soon. I would prefer to continue using Hybrid options. The reason I feel this way is because I don't want to take the time to charge my car at home, I would much rather fill it up with some gas and get going. People are excited and want to purchase electric cars thinking it will save them money in the long run, but in all honesty, it'll probably be about the same costs as a hybrid. That's my personal opinion, but I feel as if it's true.

That's the part I don't like about this shit. With all these cars being hooked up to the internet and communicating their locations it'll be impossible to escape the government if need be. I think everyone that can should keep an old car with no GPS and no computers. You never know when you need to be off the grid.

I drove a Toyota Sienna Hybrid from TX to GA & it was amazing! The passing gear, the smooth ride, the computer dashboard, the gas mileage, auto door opener, ALL outstanding!

I'm NEVER trusting a computer or robot to drive me anywhere. I've seen people in the back seats of these vehicles, when I lived in TX. If some shit jumps off, there’s NO reaction time from the back seat, that ass is grass! 💯

For someone like me that have a very serious trust issues, you can easily imagine how I'm going to react when I'm inside such car. I would make it inconvenient for all inside it.

I never thought about that and now that you just mentioned it, it looks like it's something they are capable of doing. There's even a possibility of having the car hacked or bugged all in the name of security or whatever they may decide to call it.

Elon Musk is capable of anything to be very frank with you. He's done it all and I'm seeing him get into cloning technology and that's if he's not doing it underground already. I don't trust that man. His electric car looks impressive but what are we giving away from using it is the good question?

He is a very smart guy and I am sure he is "kind" when he wants to me but he has a lot of money and a lot of power in the world right now and honestly, he is the perfect person to be made into a real-life super villain. So yeah, I don't trust him either.

I drove a Toyota Sienna hybrid for the first time, from TX to GA & I loved it! Smooth, fast, maneuvers great, good gas mileage, stylish, etc. I would've preferred another color however.

I have a Ford CMAX hybrid which was really popular but they stopped selling them in the U.S. after the 2015 model. It’s got a lot of space esp for tall folks compared to Japanese cars. Anyways the teslas are too expensive for me. And they have full acres to the car. I can see in the future you don’t pay they will turn on auto pilot and the car will drive back to Tesla on its own. LOL

I don't own either a hybrid or electric car, though I would love to own an electric car one of these days. I just don't know how I'd charge it, how much it will cost to charge as well and if my area even has enough charging stations.

At the moment I'm not too into the prices, but they do seem to be coming down some, so maybe one of these days I'll own my own electric vehicle.
