Well she got me beat when it comes to Latino foods. Chalupas, tacos, enchiladas, menudo and stuff like that.

But she can't out cook me on most other stuff.
All I do is cook the same thing my husband cooked the day before or a day after. He'll say, "Damn, I guess I was tired"! My reply, "I guess so sweetie"! 🤣🤣

Let's share some of our favorite recipes & cooking tips!
I make this French toast when I don't feel like using Brioche. It's not the healthiest meal, but it's a delicious (and easy) breakfast treat!

Pound Cake French Toast

Ingredients:

  • 1 (16 ounces) store bought pound cake
  • 3 eggs beaten
  • 1/3 cup heavy cream or 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 3 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • powdered sugar
  • berries and syrup for serving
Directions:
  1. Mix eggs, milk almond extract, vanilla extract, cinnamon and salt in a large mixing bowl.
  2. Melt butter on a skillet over medium/low heat.
  3. Slice pound cake and dunk in egg mixture.
  4. Cook pound cake on skillet for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown.
  5. Top with berries, syrup, and powdered sugar, then serve.

Will be back. I will drop my teriyaki beef joint.
I can honestly say I have never had teriyaki flavored anything. And this is including chicken wings. I see so many restaurants having it, but I have never gotten around to getting teriyaki flavored anything. And I did not even know having it on beef was a thing. I just wrote down "teriyaki" so I can order the next thing I see on a restaurant's menu with that term in it.

I like Smokin' and Grillin' With A.B.'s YouTube channel. He cooks pretty much the same way I was taught, and his recipes are easy to follow.
I have never had this dish, but I do like a lot of what he cooks. Some of the dishes he cooks are very flavorful.

The last time I had some lasagna was the mainstream kind at Walmart. Several years ago. Very good. But so unhealthy. Is there a healthier version that is still good tasting?
Veggie lasagna is healthy. But really, as long as you make it yourself, it will most likely be healthier than anything you buy in the store.
