MLK's heart was in the right place but white supremacists had a card up their sleeve, as always. They let Mandiba out of jail and kept all of the important stuff in order to get out from under international sanctions. The same thing happened here with the Civil Rights Movement.

I often wonder about sports in general in America. Most of them, their top athletes are black men and women. I know back in the day, most teams were whiter than the first snow of the season but looking around now, we can clearly see who has more value in sports. I am thankful for what MLK did and he had a heart of gold in many regards but he underestimated how evil people are at the top and the fact that a lot of people who ran the country and still run the country view black people, especially black men, as property still. I can bet you if black leagues stuck around, they would be getting more viewership and money today than a white counterpart.

Having the talent concentrated isn't the key IMHO. Think of it differently. If I told you right now to give up all of Apple products because we Blacks need to put our money in other platforms. Would you do it? I respect an answer you give, because, in the end, it's your choice.

Thats a fact sis, but i think his point was there white fragility would cause them to demonize and maybe try to shut it down as racist. Or try to change what it was and the reason it was invented in the first place. If nothing else it would open up a interesting conversation as they try to shut down critical race theory aka actual history.

White people are some of the most evil beings that you can come into contact with. Trying to make them see is a lost cause; you'd be wasting your time.

People are going to go where the money is. Some NBA players are making more than 100 million. Here we are, no NBA skills, asking them to play for $10,000 a game?

This was during jim crow and mass inequality. It looks to me like he and the others seen the grass was greener on the other side. Also he had to know that the negroleague losing their best players was going to hurt it. this would effect the black economy via commercials advertising merchandise revenue etc.

I would suggest that before you ask me or somebody else to discuss our heroes with you, you do some research on them. Instead of getting us to simply educate you, you can come to the table with knowledge and we can build.

Yo, I'm not trying to start drama but this reads like a post from someone who is not connected to the subject matter at all. It reads like you've read a book or two in the past and are trying to queue up the little parts that you can remember. Some of the sentences read as if you're trying to convince yourself that what you're saying is accurate. It seems very inauthentic. You may be attempting to connect and I feel that but we are all about Black Empowerment so connect with us in the Black Empowerment spheres that you are more grounded in. Teach us that.

If you truly want to learn about OUR history, then start with the books I recommended. YouTube isn't the answer, neither is Wikipedia, neither is "clashing perspectives". History isn't about clashing perspectives, it's about realizing viewpoints.

Back in the day, black colleges thrived. Now, there a thing of the past. That list reflects how black college life was. Clark-Atlanta University, Spellman, Morehouse, etc.
